I recently discussed some of the DVC discounts that we have used and recommend which you can take a look at HERE. In this article, I am going to be talking about some more of the DVC discounts that I have on my bucket list. Before I get going, it is worth repeating that you should NEVER buy DVC membership based on the perks that you get. The real ‘perk’ of membership is being able to regularly stay in deluxe Disney resorts. That is why we bought in and any other perks are exactly that!

Naturally, this is just a snapshot of some of the discounts on experiences that are currently available. I have essentially gone through the member benefits and chosen the five that I would most like to do…

Caring For Giants

Taking place over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, you can spend an hour with the dedicated elephant care specialists and hear about Disney’s conservation efforts from African cultural representatives. This is all while getting a closer look at the incredible elephants at the park. We are both animal lovers but my husband, in particular, would absolutely love this experience. He often says that he would have loved to work in caring for animals so I would get just as much enjoyment out of watching him in his element as I would the experience itself.

I didn’t have a picture of the elephants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom so this will have to do

Star Wars Guided Tour

This is another one that I am pretty sure my husband would absolutely love a lot more than I would but I do enjoy the Star Wars movies too. Another selling point on this one is that you get access to a reserved viewing area for both Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular as well as a character meet and greet with Kylo Ren and Chewbacca. Throw in the fact that you get lunch at Backlot Express, a tour souvenir and that it is a guided tour including Star Wars Launch Bay, if anything, it will save a lot of time in the park. The big question right now is, once Galaxy’s Edge opens, will that be included? Probably not right away, but I imagine if it isn’t, they will offer some form of an alternative that does!

Backstage Magic

Having already done and absolutely loved the Disney’s Keys To The Kingdom tour, this one seems like the logical next step. I would say that this tour is for the truly dedicated as it is a 7-hour experience. It will take you to Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, including the ‘utilidors’, the costuming department and the creative workshops. Over at Disney’s Epcot Park, you get to go backstage at The American Adventure and there is also a behind-the-scenes experience at Rivers of Light in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Apparently, that is just the highlights of the tour. I have absolutely no idea how they manage to squeeze such an itinerary into 7 hours but I absolutely want to find out!

Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour

A 4-hour guided tour of Disney’s Animal Kingdom included FastPass+ access to Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari’s, Avatar Flight of Passage, Na‘vi River Journey, DINOSAUR and Rivers Of Light (if operating) sounds like a winner to me. As it is a guided tour I can imagine you also learn a lot about the park and its history too which is definitely enticing.

Animation 101 Workshop at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Not only would I love being able to unleash my creative side with some Disney art and learn more about the principles of animation, but the fact that this experience is led by a Disney artist who has worked on actual Disney movies also makes this a must-do for me. To me, this would have always been one of those ‘money-can’t-buy’ type deals that it was actually a little bit of a surprise to see it in the member benefits. It doesn’t really state whether it is primarily aimed at children or adults but I just don’t care. I want to have this experience so badly! There I will be discovered as a hidden animation genius… or not…

This experience is only available to DVC members and is $40 per person.

This is the Animation block over in California so not entirely related but hey, I can dream right?

And there you have it. That is my bucket list of DVC Discounts I would most like to take advantage of. To be fair, I probably could have gone to a Top 10 or a Top 15 as there are so many more experiences available that I could happily pay for. What about you? Which of the DVC Discounts would you most like to enjoy? Let us know in the comments down below…
