Deluxe Studios can be found at every DVC resort and are very popular among DVC members for their low point values.  While the amenities are similar among studios, they are certainly not identical. They differ not only in theming and views but also in layout, size, and capacity.  In no particular order, here is my top 5 list of DVC Deluxe Studios based on their unique features:

Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Lake View Deluxe Studio

The studios at the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are the largest DVC studios at 447 square feet and have two showers.  Refurbished in 2021, these rooms now feature the popular Murphy-style pull-down beds, and lighter colors. Some of the Lake View Polynesian studios even provide a view of Cinderella’s Castle.

Bay Lake Tower Theme Park View Deluxe Studio

Yes, these are among the smallest studios, but they have a different layout from the other studios.  Rather than having the kitchenette along the wall as in most other resorts, the Bay Lake Tower kitchenettes are in their own alcove, which makes it feel more like a kitchen.  With this layout, there is more counter space and more storage for groceries, so everything feels less cluttered. With the Theme Park View, you can easily watch Magic Kingdom Fireworks from your own balcony and pipe in the music through your TV.  It’s like having your own private fireworks viewing!

Old Key West Deluxe Studio

While I’m not the biggest Old Key West fan due to the sprawling layout of the resort, I have to say that their studios are hard to beat when it comes to space.  At Old Key West, the studios are 390 square feet. You even get 2 Queen size beds (neither of which is a pullout bed), which you won’t find in any other resort.

Animal Kingdom Villas Value Deluxe Studio

This studio is nearly impossible to book if Animal Kingdom Villas is not your home resort (and still challenging to get even if it is your home resort), but if you can ever get it, this is an awesome point value!  Value studios now go for as few as 7 points a night in the September 2024 points chart. Any way to get more nights at Walt Disney World out of your points is a win in my book.

BoardWalk Villas Boardwalk View Deluxe Studio

I may be a bit biased here as a BoardWalk Villas owner, but I really love the Boardwalk View studio for its beautiful view of the Crescent Lake area.  You can not only see the nightlife and sideshows from your balcony, but you can also see Spaceship Earth and some of the fireworks from EPCOT. Also, considering that the Boardwalk View is a preferred view, the point values are very reasonable, ranging from 14 to 29 points a night, depending on the travel period.

  • Nice article but I completely disagree with BLT. Personally, it’s the worst studio on WDW property. I much prefer the new rooms at Pop Century than a studio at BLT. The layout is horrible and a terrible use of space.

  • Meant to add that I agree with the rest. Love BWV studios and if you can snag a standard, the point cost is great. Poly studios are great with the split bath and a great use of
Space. OKW doesn’t work for our family but I think they are a great option for those families who want 2 real beds and I’m glad they left the layout with the recent refurb. Great article showing the different options in just the studio option.

  • The Riviera deluxe studios are amazing. It felt more like a one bedroom than a studio. I think that DVC finally hit the nail on the head with Riviera.

    • That’s great to hear. I’m hoping to try it out!

  • Love all of these choices!! We own at BLT and CCV! Love the separate area of the kitchen at BLT and the separate area where I can get ready! We also love BWV in any type of room! Thanks for your opinions! Always appreciated!

    • Thanks so much! We own at BLT too, and I’m looking forward to a stay there in June! I know CCV didn’t make this list, but we love it too–it was nearly our home resort, but that may be a story for another time!

  • Love the BLT studios, not sure why so many complain about them. I’d go with lake view though, sunrise over Bay Lake or the electric water pageant from my balcony can’t be beat.

  • I have to agree with the first 3
Polynesian Lake View Deluxe Studio, Preferably an upper floor from Moorea. Plenty of room for 4-5. Great view of the castle.
Bay Lake Tower studio Views either of the Lake or Park from the balcony what a great site…
Old Key West Studios 2 Queen beds plenty of space. We enjoy it as a complete getaway from the hustle of life.
    Plus
Villas at Grand Floridian Studios Love our VGF. Always enjoy our time there. Location. Charm just breathtaking.
Finally, Our first home resort for nearly 15 years SSR at Congress Park We love the views of Disney Springs

  • I can’t wait to see the new studios at Boulder Ridge.

  • Hoping for the updating of the studios at BLT. I love them, but the couch is just way too small for an adult or adult sized children.
