Vero Beach Resort – One of DVC’s Best Kept Secrets

When we joined DVC back in March of 2014, our first reservation wasn’t to WDW; it was to the beach at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. This was because this Southern California girl, now living in Michigan, was missing her ocean time and found a way to get there with her newly acquired Disney Vacation Club points. We went for a kids-free weekend with our best friends, who also joined when we did, and boy were we surprised and forever hooked. We weren’t sure what to expect as it was our first DVC trip and stay at a DVC property, and we quickly fell in love. The quaint and relaxed vibe combined with Disney quality and service and being on the beach, it hooked us in. So much that we have on an average gone 1-2 times a year since we joined.

Vero Beach Resort

This resort doesn’t have the busy hustle and bustle of WDW properties, and it’s smaller size is perfect! Don’t get me wrong, I love that energy too, but sometimes, especially after a few days at the parks, you just want to chill, and Vero Beach offers just that. Your toughest decisions of the day are Beach, Pool, or both. As parents, our kids can play in the pool area, water slide, splash pad, putt-putt golf, shuffleboard, and other activities, while mom and dad enjoy some much needed R&R. This includes relaxing at the pool and beach chairs, a full-service pool bar, full-service Spa, and a Lounge area. Despite all this, it’s not your typical beach resort, and still has some of that Disney Magic we all love so much!

You can rent Beach Chairs, Loungers & Umbrellas. The triangled off areas are Turtle nests.

It’s not perfect, but it’s darn near close in my book! If we could only control the NoSeeUms! While those of us who love Vero Beach don’t want more DVC Members to fight with at the eleven & seven-month booking windows, this property deserves some love. It really is, in my opinion, one of DVC’s best-kept secrets!

I would love to hear if you’ve experienced Vero Beach and what your thoughts are on the property!

  • We Will be heading over there for a few days just after a college visit at UCF, Can’t wait….This will be our 3rd attempt to actually stay @ this resort.

  • Vero is a great property. Relaxing, location, comfortable villas. Great for a couples-only vacation.

  • We’ve been DVC member since 2008 and just had our very first visit to Vero Beach in February for a weekend and absolutely fell in love with the place. I can’t believe we haven’t been there before now. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time there.

  • We owned a 125-point add-on here starting in the mid-1990’s. We took our kids for a two-night “calm down” from the Parks before flying home, so they could relax and better work on some homework. Our favorite rooms were oceanfront inn…sleeping with the balcony door open and curtains drawn so we could hear the ocean. We used to walk in the Hundred Acre Woods across the road, which was slated for future DVC development but I believe has now been sold. Enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet in Shutters. Always wanted to stay in a beach bungalow, but never managed that. Wonderful resort.

  • We went this past July 2019. I bought a subsidized Vero resale contract. Used points at BLT and Kidani priori to July 2019.
It was truly an amazing experience for us and 2 daughters. We had an ocean view inn room which was magical to look at. We too loved the relaxed vibe and Disney attention to detail. I highly recommend the Pirate dinner. It was great and it is relatively a small and limited seating so we even danced with a couple pirate themed characters. I do agree about the no see ums. They were brutal in the morning and evening. On site food is pretty good but so easy to get to a grocery store or have food delivered. We stopped at a grocery store on the way to check in that morning so that helped the dining out costs.
There are also lots of activities and experiences that you can do for both kids and adults.

  • It is a wonderful place that everyone should try to enjoy with their family! We were there in 2010 with the kiddos… wish we had gone back because now they are adults 🙁

  • Just visited last month and it was wonderful but the noseeums ate my wife alive!! probably wont go back
