Disney Vacation Club Answers Reopening FAQs

Recently, Disney Vacation Club updated their website to include a list of Frequently Asked Questions surrounding the reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

We’ve decided to highlight a few questions we’ve seen asked frequently over on DISboards and in the DVC Fan Facebook Group, but you can view the entire list here.

Q: I have a Resort reservation currently planned for 2020, but I do not have a theme park ticket. When can I begin purchasing theme park tickets and booking dates for park reservations?

Unfortunately, the answer DVC is giving here is more of the same. Guests with existing tickets and Annual Passholders can currently make park reservations. However, no specific date has been defined when 2020 ticket sales will resume. Ticket sales have been predicted to likely resume later this Summer based on availability.

Q: When can I make advance dining reservations for my Walt Disney World vacation?

Again we have an answer without an answer. While guests can currently make a limited amount of dining reservations for Disney Springs restaurants, theme park and resort reservations remain unavailable. No specific date has been given for when dining reservations will resume. If you are looking for a Disney Springs reservation, be sure to check out Open Table for additional options.

Q: Is pool hopping allowed?

The simple answer is no. During the initial reopening, pool hopping will not be allowed by DVC Members. In their response to this question, Disney Vacation Club also states that a valid resort or dining reservation is required to enter a resort property.

Q: Will grocery delivery be allowed?

Yes – Members are still allowed to order groceries; however, these will need to be picked up at your resorts merchandise location.

Q: Are the DVC Community Hall locations open?

Yes – Community Hall‘s across all DVC properties will be open, but offerings will be limited.

Q: Can members purchase additional cleaning services?

This one was surprising to me… DVC Members will not have the option to purchase additional cleaning services during the initial reopening period.

Q: Will Top of the World Lounge be open?

This shouldn’t be too much of a bummer since there won’t be any fireworks for a while, but Disney Vacation Club has confirmed that TOTWL will be unavailable at this time.

Q: Will the EPCOT Member Lounge be available once the park reopens?

Finally, a piece of good news! DVC is planning to reopen the Member Lounge at EPCOT on July 15th. Capacity will be limited, and availability and other amenities may not be available. At least members will have a place to take a break and get out of the heat, though!

We are pretty excited that DVC has at least clarified a few of these things so that members with Walt Disney World vacations soon can begin to generate some plans!

Stay tuned to DVC Fan, the DVC Fan Facebook Group, and The DIS for more information as it becomes available!

  • Just got off the phone with DVC and tickets for those who have existing reservations go on sale Sunday 6/28 at 9:00 am.

  • Fingers crossed that DVC members, with a resort-only reservation, get priority access to 2020 tickets when they go on sale. Somebody needs to throw us a bone!

  • I talked to member services at DVC this morning, and he sounded like the grocery service was just their internal marketplace grocery ordering, not outside third parties. The FAQ may be targeting that the groceries cannot be delivered, they have to be picked up. But third party sources are saying they can deliver, so who knows.

    • Dizzy Dolphin is already delivering to resorts Bell Service,

  • Can I buy tickets online when they allow DVC with reservations to buy tickets or can we call DVC member services for tickets ?

  • Thank you for the FAQ. Are DVC resort renters allowed to see their DVC resort on their own account even though they are listed as a Guest under the DVC owner’s name? How common is this request? Do most renters just bring a copy of the resort reservation when they check-in? That is what I have done every December. If park reservations continue as is, I wanted to make park reservations now. And the new 60-day dining reservations before my December check-in. Anyone have experiences they would like to share? Ray
