A recent image on the shopDisney website suggests that we may soon see the addition of Magic Bands at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas!
In browsing the website the other day, fellow DVC Fan David Zakariaie stumbled across an image hinting that this wearable tech may soon become part of an Aulani getaway.
The idea of Magic Bands at Aulani has been one that has been growing over the past year or more. In July 2019, a survey being sent to guests asked multiple questions focused on using both an app and Magic Bands while visiting the Aulani resort. Reports then emerged in October 2019 that RFID readers had been added to guest room doors throughout the resort. Most recently, Aulani introduced a new mobile app as part of its reopening, which added the ability to manage reservations and an online check-in service for guests. The addition of Magic Bands seems to be the next logical step in this process.
While the use of Magic Bands has never been a part of the guest experience at Aulani, they are not exactly new to the resort. Magic Bands have been used since 2015 as part of the Aunty’s Beach House kids club. Known as “keiki bands”, these allow children to enter and exit the club and provide added security for this area.
We’re excited to see how Magic Bands will be incorporated into Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Share with us in the comments whether you think this is a good addition to Aulani, and how you would like to see them utilized!

Yes! That way I don’t need anything else to take to the pool but myself! I have seen this conformed on some of the Aulani DVC sites. We also had to cancel our December trip (happening in 2 days) due to the pretesting fiasco so we were taking ours to hopefully use there. We are now “just” going to WDW to enjoy & use DVC points for a low-key vacation.
