Back in March, we polled our readers on what they felt was the best Disney Vacation Club Resort for this Spring. Voters could select one resort that they felt would be the perfect place to stay for a spring getaway. Here are the results:
First, let’s take a look at the resorts that garnered the lowest amount of votes. Some of these low percentages may be due to the fact that many lack the experience staying there. But for the Disney World resorts, our readers maybe just didn’t view them as the place to be this Spring.
- The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel – 0.8%
- Disney’s Vero Beach Resort – 1.2%
- Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort – 1.6%
- Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – 2.3%
- Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas – 3.7%
- The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort – 3.8%
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – 4.5%
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort – 4.8%
- Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – 5.6%
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – 5.7%
Now, let’s take a look at the top five results!
5. Disney’s Old Key West Resort – 8%
I’m only a little surprised to see Old Key West rank ahead of resorts like Grand Floridian and Polynesian. Old Key West has gathered quite the following recently and Paul and I have even admitted this past year how much we fell in love during our first stay. Old Key West is the relaxing and tropical oasis many dream of visiting during springtime. With four swimming pools, huge villas, large balconies, serene water and golf course views, it’s no wonder this resort made its way into the top five.

4. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – 10.4%
Earning the number four spot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas continues its not-so-surprising popularity. There isn’t a whole lot to say here other than to quote the infamous Pete Werner because “It has a friggin savanna”. Let’s not forget the theming is hard to beat. Animal Kingdom Villas is our first ever home resort and will always hold a very special place in our hearts. It makes me happy to see all the love it gets.

3. Disney’s Riviera Resort – 13.7%
Pulling enough votes to gain a third-place victory is none other than the newest DVC resort. There are several factors at play here to give Riviera its position. For starters, springtime means the Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing and Riviera is just a Skyliner ride away from the International Gateway. Add to this the fact that Riviera is new and exciting and the rooms are beautiful. It’s also home to one of the hottest new dining locations, Topolinos. Lastly, who can resist those beautiful sunsets?

2. Disney’s Beach Club Villas – 17.1%
The top two results are not surprising at all and the number of votes separating second place from first is a whopping two-tenths of a percentage. As mentioned earlier, Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing so staying in the Crescent Lake resort area is a top choice for many. It’s one of my favorite places to be in all of Disney World. Beach Club Villas takes the number two spot and it’s easy to see why. It’s walking distance to two parks. The theming always transports me to one of my favorite east coast beaches. Plus, it houses the best Disney pool on property, Stormalong Bay.

1. Disney’s BoardWalk Villas – 17.3%
If DVC gave away fan-favorite awards, BoardWalk would need a special case to house its winnings. It’s such a well-loved resort and every time we do these polls, its popularity becomes more evident. As BoardWalk owners ourselves, we get it. Aside from location and the whimsical theming, there are a few other reasons we are sure helped BoardWalk to squeak a victory out over Beach Club. The balcony views at BoardWalk are fantastic. Also, during non-COVID times and hopefully again soon, this resort offers great dining and entertainment options like Flying Fish, Jellyrolls, and the nightly entertainment out on the boardwalk. The atmosphere at night here is magical.

Considering the pandemic, It is surprising to have Old Key West and Animal Kingdom Villas listed considering that the only source of transportation is loading onto buses. I would have expected the properties with walking paths or usage of the Skyliner to be at the top of the list under the current circumstances. The Grand Floridian should have scored higher because of the new walking path directly to the Magic Kingdom.
My family stayed at both the Boardwalk Villas and AKL villas in April. I agree they are in the top 5.
i prefer the views at BW over Beach club, so I think it inches ahead in quality
BTW, we had a great meal (burgers and french dip sandwich) at Beaches n Cream while there.
I LOVE THAT FRENCH DIP. 🙂
