Disney Vacation Club Jobs Affected By Cast Member Layoffs

Today in a WARN notice submitted to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, we’ve learned that 279 employees of Disney Vacation Development will be laid off beginning December 4th, 2020.

This comes on the heels of an announcement yesterday by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, stating that as a result of the compounding impact of COVID-19, Disney would be implementing workforce reductions affecting approximately 28,000 Cast Members.

WARN Notice – DVD, Inc.

These non-union Disney Vacation Club employees primarily are employed at the companies headquarters at 1375 E Buena Vista. These layoffs appear to affect a wide range of DVC positions from sales associates, guides, and more.

It is unclear at this time whether these are a reflection of operational changes within Disney Vacation Development or if they signal continued sales struggles for the division.

Our thoughts are with the entire DVC/DVD team during these unprecedented times.

  • It’s so many on Florida branch…such sad news..

  • These are sad times indeed. I hope everything gets back to normal sooner than later. But you have to wonder if some of the losses are due to bad policies regarding resale usage and the trend towards restricting how owners, resale or Disney purchased, can use their points? I have friends who were considering purchasing points but changed their minds after seeing the new restrictions.
