Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
Overview
Along the Atlantic Treasure Coast, about a 2-hour drive from Walt Disney World, you’ll find Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. The beach resort is the perfect place to unwind after a jam-packed theme park vacation. It is located near golf courses, boutiques, a state park, botanical garden, and river preserve. The resort is also home to the nesting grounds of Loggerhead Sea Turtles and was specially designed to minimize its impact on their environment and nesting patterns. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort opened in 1995, and DVC contracts there end on January 31, 2042.
Vero Beach Resort was last fully renovated in 2016. The lobby was refreshed in May 2022, and the rooms will be receiving a mild refresh in late 2023.

What DVC Fans Have to Say about Vero Beach
Pros
Huge studios (2 queen beds/no sofa); beautiful property; area is not commercialized; off resort trails; smaller resort; free mini golf, pool toys & games; pool games/entertainment; nominal fee rental bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, beach chairs/umbrellas; cast members keep the pool chair savers/towel leavers/chair movers under control (towels must be asked for & name/room # given) –Kelley B.
Exquisite little beachside gem with spa, dining, and mini golf on site. To date, the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever experienced was 4 nights at Vero followed by a 7 night cruise with DCL [Disney Cruise Line]. –Adrianna S.
The private beach is quite. Nice little fitness center. Lots of family things to do. Very relaxed vibe. Cast members are awesome! –Greg S.
Here now, the best cast members we’ve experienced in the past three years. –Ronnie H.
Love this resort. Very relaxing. Great bar (which also has popcorn machine)! Food choices generally good but limited so if staying here more than a day or 2 need to cook in room or go elsewhere. Beach! –Joanne P.
Cons
The ocean itself can be a bit rough for swimming and kids’ play. My dad and I both hurt our wrist/arm here in the ocean on separate trips (it hurt badly enough for each of us that it was still painful months later). There isn’t a lot of food nearby apart from what’s on site, so you’ll want to drive to get food most likely. –Samantha B.
Dues. That’s about it. I do think that people should be aware that only top floor villas, cabins, and oceanfront hotel rooms will be able to see the ocean from their balconies. This is because of the giant sea grapes hedge that helps prevent the turtles from nesting above the beach. Bottom floor villas don’t have ocean views, but many have giant balconies that could comfortably accommodate the max capacity of a 2 bdr villa. –Adrianna S.
The fly bites are vicious and stayed with me for weeks. –Alison H.
Rooms are dated, terrible dining options, no activities for children at community hall, bike rentals are extremely rusty. The resort has so much potential if Disney invested — R. Sarah S.
Hedges between resort & beach are very high & you can only see the ocean from 3rd & 4th floors, noseeums especially at the beach, food options get old quick if staying more than a week, only one large pool & one small hot tub, need a car to get to actual Vero Beach; ocean floor drops off fast so not the best beach for small children/poor swimmers. –Kelley B.
