If you are looking for a break from the parks and something new to do with your DVC membership, look no further than Vero Beach. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a Disney Vacation Club property located along the Treasure Coastline of Vero Beach, Florida. It’s about an hour and thirty minutes from Disney World and an hour and fifteen minutes from Port Canaveral (all depending on traffic). It is a beautiful resort with plenty of amenities with the perfect Disney touch we all know and love.

Booking Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
Obviously, if you own points at Vero Beach, you have an advantage to book during peak times during the 11-month window. This also gives you a better chance at scoring those unique three-bedroom beach cottages. If you are not a Vero Beach owner, you have a few options for visiting Vero Beach. You can try and book when the 7-month window opens. We found the rooms at Vero to be fairly cheap point-wise and if you book during non-peak times, the availability isn’t bad. We traveled with friends on our trip who are all DVC members. I was happy to find that we were separately able to book three Ocean View Inn Rooms at the 7-month booking window for a trip in May. However, if you are planning on traveling to Vero Beach during busier times (summer and spring break), you may want to look into renting DVC points from a Vero member from a reputable site like DVC Rental Store.
What We Love About Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

First and foremost, we are the type of people who feel very “at home” at Disney. And I’ve noticed this when we travel. We have experienced other cruise lines and hotels and had great experiences all over. However, when we do a Disney experience, it just feels like home. This was the case with Disney Cruise Line, Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, and Vero Beach. It’s a combination of the cast members, the decor & decorative touches, the background music, entertainment, and other offerings. These things make it feel special.
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort was no exception. The resort, grounds, and room were beautiful and clean. The cast members were friendly and helpful. The pool and activities were fun. The whole resort is quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the dining options both at the resort and the many wonderful restaurants around the area.
In addition to all the above, Disney cares very much about sea turtle conservation. Every morning, cast members cover a five-mile stretch on the beach along the resort. They search out nests of turtle eggs in order to mark their location for protection and research. We were walking the beach one morning when a cast member stopped us and asked if we’d like to see the turtle eggs she just found. It was a cool experience to talk with her and learn about sea turtles and how they lay their eggs.

I definitely recommend making the trip to Disney’s Vero Beach resort if you have the chance. For us, it makes a perfect weekend getaway or a wonderful pre or post-cruise stay. It’s a great way to relax and unwind while still maintaining some of the Disney magic you feel at Disney World. While this may be one of DVC’s best kept secrets, we felt it would be wrong to not share this beautiful resort with you.

Just finishing a 4 night stay at Vero after 5 at Copper Creek. Second time at Vero and my family loves this place. The food options are decent , but as you stated before so many options within a 15 minute drive. I know you recommended Ocean Grill but I highly recommend Countryside Citrus / El Sid Taqueria. They have homemade ice cream and mexican food. The food is affordable and delicious. The ice cream was great. An orange slush with vanilla swirl is a top seller. We also tried their orange and vanilla swirl ice cream. Other desserts like Key Lime and Pecan pie looked good.
We also went to Squid Lips in Sebastian which is out on the water. Fun atmosphere with very good food.
