In a recent development, it appears that Big River Grille & Brewing Works is set to close its doors at Disney’s BoardWalk at Walt Disney World Resort.
This surprising news was first brought to light through an internal letter from an employee circulating online, indicating that the restaurant will cease operations, with its last day being this Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Our friends at WDWNT have shared a statement from Walt Disney World, confirming the closure: “Big River Grille & Brewing Works will have its last day of operation on Jan. 21, closing on Jan. 22. To provide additional lunch options, guests can explore a rotating selection of food trucks beginning Jan. 22.”

This statement suggests that while one door is closing, new and exciting dining experiences are on the horizon for the BoardWalk. The prospect of welcoming a variety of food trucks to Disney’s BoardWalk is already making our mouths water, adding a fresh dynamic to the BoardWalk’s already vibrant atmosphere.
This closure continues the larger transformation that BoardWalk is currently undergoing. The area is experiencing a significant transition, with new restaurants slated to open in 2024, including Blue Ribbon Corndogs and Cake Bake Shop. Additionally, the Disney Vacation Club side of the resort is continuing to undergo an extensive refurbishment.
