Favorite Dining Locations Around Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

We recently had the pleasure to visit Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort. If you are considering a visit to this hidden gem DVC property and need a reason to go, I’ve got three amazing reasons. Since dining at the actual resort is limited, you’ll want to check out one of the over 300 restaurants located on the island. We checked out several places on Hilton Head Island and the three below take the cake for our favorites.

Hilton Head Social Bakery

We can’t recommend Hilton Head Social Bakery enough. There are two locations on the island. One is open year around and a short drive from the resort. The other is walking distance to the resort, but open seasonally. We drove to the further one since it was February. Hilton Head Social Bakery was created by award winning Chef Philippe Feret and has a unique French menu of pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and more.

I ordered a Jambon-Beurre which was a traditional baguette sandwich with Ham, Gruyere, cornichons and *Presidente butter. The baguette was so fresh and perfectly soft and chewy while the sauce and toppings gave the sandwich amazing flavor. I still think about this sandwich and it has taken away any sadness related to the change of the BoardWalk bakery Italian hoagie. Just wish it was located a little closer to home, but that would be dangerous for my wallet and calorie intake.

Paul had the smoked salmon croissant which was a warmed Croissant, cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers over a bed of mixed greens. He loved it and said the croissant and fillings were all great. There were so many amazing looking items in this bakery, I would eat there every day for a week and still have things I want to try.

Poseidon

Poseidon was another favorite of ours. This eatery is located in the Shelter Cove area which is an easy bike ride, drive, or walk from the resort. Poseidon served a variety of seafood dishes as well as entrees for the non-seafood lover. Paul enjoyed the oysters. The tomato pie was one of the best appetizers we have had in a long time, very fresh and flavorful. The coastal combination was a great way to try a variety of seafood. The scallops were particularly fantastic. Paul really enjoyed the grouper and the doughnut cake was flavorful, the mixed berries adding to the dessert. We had great service here as well. Our server great with suggestions and just overall very attentive and helpful.

Nectar Farm Kitchen

We can’t say enough great things about Nectar except that I can’t wait to go back and try more menu items. This place came highly recommended by several people. We even rearranged some plans just to try it out for brunch the Sunday before we headed home. We are so glad we did! Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our service was great. The restaurant itself is so beautiful and cute inside with a shabby chic feel. Their menu is extensive with so many choices. The tomato hand pie was served pipping hot and full of flavor. I loved the chilaquiles dish and would order it again in a heartbeat. Paul really enjoyed his sandwich and coffee.

With as many great places there are to eat on Hilton Head Island, I’m interest to know what places you love the most. Share with us your top picks or places you plan to try next.

  • Maybe next time you could try Skull Creek Boathouse or Frankie Bones.
We have found the SERG group of restaurants is really great!

  • We always start our HH vacations with lunch at the Crazy Crab Jarvis Creek as we enter the island. Another favorite is Skull Creek Boathouse – great food, lovely view and live music! Will definitely try your recommendations next time.

  • We’re going in November and was afraid there wouldn’t be man6 restaurants open
    Thank you

  • Palmetto Dunes General Store has AMAZING chicken, but we were tipped off to get there by early afternoon because once it’s gone, it’s it’s gone. They don’t make additional servings.
