Island Tower DVC Exterior

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is set to expand with a breathtaking new addition, promising to mesmerize guests with the allure of Polynesian culture and Disney magic. Slated for opening in December 2024, the new Island Tower is designed to be a storytelling masterpiece that encapsulates the spirit of Polynesia. Let’s dive into all the exciting new news Disney Parks Blog shared today about Island Tower!

The Magic of Island Tower

The proposed 10-story Island Tower will offer guests panoramic views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, immersing them in the beauty of the natural world and the enchantment of Disney. Situated within a short walk to the Disney Monorail, the tower provides unparalleled access to Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT, making it an ideal location for those wishing to explore the magic of Disney World.

A Vision Realized

Echoing the original concept designs of Disney’s Polynesian Resort, the Island Tower is a long-awaited fulfilment of the imaginative vision of Disney’s Imagineers. With its inclusion, the resort will finally complete a picture decades in the making, celebrating the rich Polynesian culture and heritage. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by striking designs, including a stunning Manta Ray symbolizing freedom, protection, and grace adorning the tower’s exterior.

A Lobby That Tells A Story

Venturing inside the lobby, visitors will find themselves captivated by an art panel installation on the ceiling, inspired by the diverse wildlife of several Polynesian Islands. This installation not only adds to the aesthetic beauty of the space but also carries deep symbolic meanings related to Polynesian values.

Art and Conservation

Walt Disney Imagineering has collaborated with artists globally to fill the resort with unique artworks, from preserved moss walls to recycled fishing net sculptures, all inspired by Polynesian cultures and the spirit of conservation. These pieces promise to make Island Tower not just a place to stay, but a gallery of cultural celebration.

Accommodations for Everyone

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will offer a range of room types to accommodate groups of two to nine guests. This includes duo studios, roomy one- and two-bedroom villas, brand-new two-bedroom penthouse villas, and deluxe studio rooms, complementing the existing resort options. Guests can expect layouts tailored to their needs and breathtaking views.

New Restaurant and Eco-Friendly Features at the Island Tower

In addition to the luxurious accommodations and amenities offered at the new Island Tower, Disney also casually slipped in some exciting news about a new restaurant coming to Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Although no specific details have been released yet, guests can expect a unique dining experience. The restaurant within the tower will also include the first all-electric kitchen on Walt Disney World Resort property.

Looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Can we get a picture of the front of the resort so we can see everything around the finished tower? I pray there’s a killer pool and splash area for the kiddos! Will there be a monorail STOP at the Tower (or just at the normal Poly)?
