Disney Cruise Line has just unveiled early details for the inaugural sailings of their upcoming ship, the Disney Destiny, and Disney Vacation Club has announced an exciting opportunity for its members to be among the first to experience this majestic vessel! Continuing the tradition of exclusive Disney Vacation Club “First Wave” Member Experiences, one of the first voyages aboard the Disney Destiny will be reserved solely for DVC Members and their guests.
If you recall other First Wave sailings like the inaugural journey aboard the Disney Wish, the Lighthouse Point preview experience, or the anticipated First Wave inaugural opportunity aboard the Disney Treasure, this latest offering brings another unique opportunity for DVC members to create magical memories at sea.
Itinerary:
This 5-night adventure departs from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday, November 28th, 2025, with the following exciting itinerary:
- Departure: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- At Sea
- Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point – Disney’s newest private island paradise
- At Sea
- Disney’s Castaway Cay – A beloved private island in the Bahamas
- Return: Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025
Important Details:
It is important to note that this sailing is not a DVC Member Cruise and instead is an exclusive opportunity for DVC Members to be the ‘First Wave’ to set sail on the Disney Destiny. This is similar to the Disney Wish exclusive sailing offered in 2022 and the exclusive Lighthouse Point sailing earlier this year.
Disney Vacation Club has previously stated, “Different from a Member Cruise, this voyage is part of the Disney Collection exchange. Therefore, regular cruise programing will not be altered, and daily in-room gifts are not included.”
Pricing:
One key detail for members looking to book this voyage is that at least one guest per stateroom must be booked using Disney Vacation Club points. According to the DVC website: “Because this is a Disney Collection Exchange opportunity, at least one person in each stateroom must be booked on points. In addition, one person in the party must use Vacation Points when this cruise is booked. Other Guests can make cash payments.” The use of direct points or grandfathered resale points (blue card holders) will be required, which may limit eligibility for some DVC members.

Booking Information:
Mark your calendars! Booking for this exclusive sailing aboard the Disney Destiny opens on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, at 8:00 AM Eastern Time. DVC members can secure their spot by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800 or (407) 566-3800.
On the day of booking, Member Services will be dedicated solely to processing these cruise reservations, and members are advised that wait times may be longer than usual. The online booking tool will still be available on Wednesday for those looking to book or modify resort reservations. Normal operations will resume on Thursday – October 24th at 9am, EST.
To help streamline the process, have the following information ready when you call:
- Member ID Number
- Preferred stateroom categories (first, second, and third choices)
- Special dietary and medical needs
- Castaway Club Number (for returning Disney cruisers)
- Full legal names, dates of birth, phone numbers, addresses, and citizenship details for each person in your party
Member Services Cast Members will again utilize an expedited booking procedure to secure your reservation on your initial call without further information. Then, within 72-hours, you will receive a follow-up call to finalize your payment method and fully guarantee the booking.
Please note, DVC Member Cruises are considered a Disney Vacation Club –Membership Extra and can only be booked by direct members with a valid DVC-Y” designation on their membership card.
