A common complaint of those staying at the Beach Club or BoardWalk is that the breakfast options can feel limited. If you’re looking for a table service breakfast, you may have overlooked one option in the Crescent Lake area: Rosa Mexicano at the Walt Disney World Dolphin. While most know Rosa Mexicano for its elevated Mexican cuisine for dinner, many may not realize that the restaurant also serves breakfast.
Dining Availability
Although the Disney World website only offers reservations for dinner at Rosa Mexicano, the restaurant serves breakfast daily from 7am to 11am. No reservations are needed. When my family and I dined there on a Sunday morning, we were able to just walk up without any wait.
Menu Offerings
Guests have a choice of à la carte items, the continental breakfast buffet, or breakfast buffet. Among the à la carte items are some standard options, such as eggs your way, steel-cut oatmeal, and pancakes. Then there are specialty items, such as the chilaquiles divorciados, churro waffles, huevos rancheros, and a breakfast burrito.
If you have a larger appetite, you can opt for the continental breakfast, which has an assortment of fruits, pastries, cereals, parfaits, tres leches overnight oats, and hard-boiled eggs. For more options, you can go for the breakfast buffet, which includes everything in the continental breakfast plus:
- Hot selections (bacon, sausage, chorizo, ranch-style potatoes)
- Scrambled eggs with fresh salsa, lime crema, and tortilla strips
- Pancakes and Mickey waffles
- Rosa’s guacamole & toast
- Made-to-order omelets
I got the breakfast buffet. To me, the top items were Rosa’s guacamole and toast, the made-to-order omelet, and the Mickey waffles. Rosa Mexicano’s tableside guacamole is a must at dinner, and the guacamole on the toast was just as fresh and flavorful. The slices are quite small, but with it being a buffet, you can always get more. I also got the veggie omelet with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and spinach, and while basic, it was done well. If veggies aren’t your thing, there was a ham and cheese omelet and a meat lovers omelet with bacon, sausage, and chorizo.
For those who love a classic Mickey waffle like me, these were the real deal–the same malted waffle batter we know and love. Plus, you can top it with cinnamon whipped cream or Mexican chocolate ganache.
My two-year-old can be a somewhat finicky eater lately, and even he found plenty to enjoy, including the fruit, cereal, and sausage.
Overall Thoughts
Service was friendly and prompt, and our server checked in on us regularly throughout our meal. While I can’t say it was the best buffet I’ve had, it was more than decent and at a reasonable price point of $29.99 for adults ($19.99 for children). That is substantially less than most all-you-care-to-eat breakfasts at Disney restaurants and about the same price as the Ale & Compass breakfast entrees with the continental enhancement. If you are eligible for DVC Membership Extras, you can also get your 10% DVC discount at Rosa Mexicano.
I’d be happy to return again though perhaps I’ll try the churro waffles or chilaquiles next time.
