Is ’Ohana at Disney Still Worth It for Dinner? A Review of the Current Experience

For many Disney fans, dinner at ’Ohana in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a must-do tradition. Known for its all-you-care-to-enjoy Polynesian-style feast and lively ambiance, this iconic dining spot has built a loyal following over the years. But with its current price tag of $67 per adult and $44 per child (ages 3 to 9) before tax and gratuity, is ’Ohana still delivering the same consistent quality that longtime guests remember?

Here’s our take after a recent visit.

What’s on the Dinner Menu at ’Ohana?

Dinner at ’Ohana is served family-style and includes a variety of island-inspired dishes brought directly to your table. Here’s what you can currently expect:

Mixed Greens with Citrus Vinaigrette
Light, crisp, and refreshingly flavorful. This salad remains one of the highlights of the meal and a perfect way to start.

’Ohana Signature Bread with Honey Butter
Slightly sweet and warm, the bread pairs beautifully with the honey butter. It’s a tempting beginning, but try not to fill up too early.

Pork Dumplings with Garlic Chili Sauce
One of our personal favorites. These pot stickers are flavorful and are among the most crave-worthy parts of the dinner.

Coriander Chicken Wings
A close second in popularity to the dumplings. These wings are seasoned perfectly with a nice balance of crispy skin and juicy meat.

Stir-Fried Vegetables
A welcome balance to the meal. Fresh and lightly seasoned, they round out the feast nicely.

’Ohana Noodles in Teriyaki Sauce
A fan favorite and essential part of the meal. Sweet, savory, and perfectly chewy, these noodles never disappoint.

Wood-Fired Grilled Beef with Black Pepper Teriyaki
While the flavor is solid, the beef can be a bit tough depending on the cut and cook. This item feels the least consistent.

Peel-n-Eat Shrimp with ’Ohana Seasoning
A minor letdown. The seasoning stays mostly on the shell, leaving the shrimp a little underwhelming once peeled. Plus, I find peel n eat shrimp to be messy and too much work for the payoff.

Grilled Chicken with Guava Pineapple Glaze
Another standout. The glaze is sweet and tangy without overpowering the smoky flavor of the chicken.

’Ohana Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce
The dessert alone is worth the visit. Rich, indulgent, and deliciously satisfying.

How’s the Service and Atmosphere?

Service on our visit was decent—efficient and courteous, though not quite as memorable as in past experiences. Still, the warm hospitality that ’Ohana is known for remains intact.

Dinner includes live Hawaiian music, which helps maintain the festive atmosphere, though it’s worth noting that there are no characters at dinner like there are during breakfast. This makes dinner at ’Ohana a slightly more relaxed, adult-friendly experience, while still being family-friendly.

Is ’Ohana Dinner Still a Good Value?

At first glance, the price may seem steep, but considering the volume and quality of food, as well as the included soft drinks, it’s a competitive value when compared to ordering similar items à la carte at other Disney table-service restaurants.

The pot stickers, wings, grilled chicken, noodles, and bread pudding alone make the price justifiable for many repeat visitors. While a few elements like the shrimp and beef can be hit or miss, the meal overall still holds up.

Despite minor inconsistencies, ’Ohana continues to be a solid dining choice for families and Disney fans alike. The meal offers a unique blend of flavors and island flair that’s hard to find elsewhere on property. If you’re looking for a festive, hearty dinner with plenty of variety and a tropical vibe, ’Ohana still delivers.
