In an update for Disney Vacation Club members set to embark on the 2024 DVC Member Cruise, Disney Cruise Line has announced a modification to the cruise itinerary.
A Commitment to Marine Conservation
The revision comes in response to new recommendations from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which has designated specific areas in the North-West Mediterranean Sea as Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs). To protect the local whale populations and other cetaceans in these waters, ships are advised to reduce their speeds when navigating through these zones. The affected area spans the beautiful coastlines of France, Italy, Monaco, and Spain.
Disney Cruise Line, always dedicated to preserving the natural environment, will be adjusting the speed of the Disney Dream to align with these recommendations. This proactive approach not only demonstrates Disney’s respect for marine life but also ensures that DVC members can enjoy their cruise knowing they are part of a responsible and ecologically conscious journey.
Updated Itinerary Highlights
Understanding the excitement and anticipation that surrounds the 2024 DVC Member Cruise, Disney Cruise Line meticulously evaluated various itinerary options to minimize disruptions and enhance the member experience. The revised schedule is designed to avoid any potential inconveniences from the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and limited Port Adventure availability in Villefranche, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable voyage for all members.
Here’s a glance at the updated itinerary for the sailing:
- Saturday: Embarkation in Barcelona, Spain
- Sunday: A relaxing Day at Sea, filled with activities and entertainment
- Monday: Discover the wonders of Livorno, Italy (previously Naples, Italy)
- Tuesday: Visit the historic Civitavecchia, Italy
- Wednesday: Explore the vibrant Naples, Italy (previously Livorno, Italy)
- Thursday: Enjoy the cultural richness of Palermo, Italy (previously Villefranche, France)
- Friday: Another delightful Day at Sea to enjoy onboard amenities
- Saturday: Disembarkation in Barcelona, Spain

Port Adventure Adjustments
Disney Cruise Line’s Port Adventures team is actively working to adjust any pre-reserved Port Adventures in Livorno and Naples to fit the revised itinerary. These changes will be viewable for those sailing on the Member Cruise in the coming weeks.
