Another year is upon the DVC community and with that comes another slate of DVC Moonlight Magic events. As with any new year, there can always be changes to this direct benefit event. Based on the past few years, we are excited to share what you might have to look forward to with the Moonlight Magic 2024 experiences.
Exclusive Shows:
One of our favorite aspects of Moonlight Magic are the shows. At Hollywood Studios, DVC members can usually expect a special showing of Fantasmic just for Moonlight Magic guests. At EPCOT, there have been special fireworks at World Showcase Lagoon. Animal Kingdom will usually offer special projection shows on the Tree of Life. All Moonlight Magic events will also have a DJ playing music and sometimes, you might find other special surprises.
Complimentary Snacks:
During Moonlight Magic events, there is usually free snacks. That can be free Mickey ice cream bars, snack coupons, etc. At events where you receive snack coupons, you’re able to redeem those at a variety of quick service locations and EPCOT festival booths for food. At Typhoon Lagoon, you usually receive a cup you can refill at the soft drink stations. Regardless of what is offered, there are always free refreshments of some sort which enhances the offerings of this event.
Special Characters:
Moonlight Magic is a great event to see characters that are rarely out on a normal park day. Since I’m not too much of a character person, I asked out DVC Fan Moderators group which rare characters they have loved seeing at Moonlight Magic and they mentioned Sheriff of Nottingham from Robinhood, Evil Queen with poison apple from Snow White, Scrooge, Launch Pad, Chip & Dale as the Rescue Rangers, The Three Caballeros, and more. DVC typically brings out characters you won’t see in a regular day in the parks.
Low Wait Times for Rides:
If anything, Moonlight Magic is a good substitute for a day in the parks, especially for members who don’t have an annual pass. You can usually enter the park early, see the normal nighttime shows, and spend the evening riding attractions with low waits. During Moonlight Magic, many rides can be walk on, with most with lines being much less than a typical park’s day.
More Space to Enjoy the Parks
One of my favorite things about Moonlight Magic is the ability to walk around usually crowded areas without the crowds. It makes for great photos and great experiences. I loved being able to walk through the Mexico pavilion without the usual congestion.
