Disney Vacation Club Members have a brand-new place to relax at Magic Kingdom! McKim’s Mile House – A DVC Member Lounge officially opens today, providing an exclusive retreat in the heart of Frontierland. Whether you’re looking for a break from the Florida heat, a spot to recharge your devices, or just a comfortable space to unwind, this lounge offers fantastic perks exclusively for DVC Members.

What is McKim’s Mile House?

Located in Frontierland, McKim’s Mile House brings a rustic, Old West-inspired atmosphere to Magic Kingdom. This DVC Member-exclusive lounge is designed as a cozy retreat where Members can take a breather between attractions while enjoying a few complimentary amenities.

Lounge Inspiration and Backstory

Every detail of McKim’s Mile House has been carefully crafted to tell a story, including its name! The lounge pays tribute to Sam McKim, a Disney Legend and concept artist who helped shape the original Frontierland at Disneyland. To honor McKim’s contributions and celebrate the spirit of Frontierland, Imagineers drew inspiration from historic mile houses of the American West.

Mile houses functioned much like hotels, offering weary travelers a place to rest and recharge along their journey. In that same spirit, McKim’s Mile House serves as a welcoming refuge for DVC Members after a day of exploring Frontierland, whether they’ve just joined Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or enjoyed a show at Country Bear Jamboree.

The lounge’s immersive design includes wood flooring, a hand-carved stone fireplace, and second-floor “boarding rooms” that reference iconic figures from Frontierland. One such room is dedicated to Barnabas T. Bullion, the fictional owner of Big Thunder Mining Company, while another pays homage to Marc Davis, the Disney Legend behind so many classic attractions. While Members won’t be able to explore the second floor, they can take in the details and spot nods to Sam McKim’s original artwork throughout the space.

What’s Inside the Lounge?

The lounge offers several Member-exclusive benefits, including:

  • Comfortable seating to relax and recharge.
  • Complimentary soft drinks to cool off and refresh.
  • Free Wi-Fi for staying connected.
  • Member Services Advisors available to assist with any DVC questions.
  • Charging cords available upon request (first-come, first-served basis).

We will definitely visit at least once. Love the idea of a quiet place to charge our phones (or magic bands) and to sit down in air conditioning. We are not soda drinkers, so we look for water – hope they add a water refill location.
