Bay Lake Tower General DVC Membership Extra

How to Visit Top of the World Lounge

New access and eligibility rules have been announced for Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair at Bay Lake Tower!  Here’s an updated guide to clarify who can visit the lounge and what events are currently held there.

Who Is Eligible?

Since the lounge’s reopening in 2022, access to Top of the World Lounge has become a Membership Extra (a “DVC-Y” perk, if you will).  This means that you either need to have a minimum of 150 DVC points directly from Disney or be grandfathered under previous eligibility rules.

Unlike in the past, you no longer need to be staying at a Disney resort to access the lounge.  So now, locals who are eligible for Membership Extras may pop into the lounge more easily.

Can I Bring Guests?

You can bring up to 4 guests per DVC Membership Card to Top of the World Lounge, or the number of guests on your resort reservation booked with your DVC Membership.

Do I Need a Reservation?

No, you can still walk up without a reservation, depending on availability.  Visit the Top of the World Lounge podium on the 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower to inquire about same-day walk-ups starting at 6pm. You’ll need to present your DVC Membership Card and a photo ID.

The lounge is most crowded right around fireworks time and least crowded when it opens at 6pm. It tends to clear out after Happily Ever After ends, so you can always watch fireworks and then try to get a drink or appetizer afterwards.

How Can I Make a Reservation?

Seven “Lair” Cake

If you want to guarantee yourself a spot at the lounge, you can make a reservation for one of the special events.  As of December 2025, there are three options:

  • Top of the World Lounge – Complimentary Fireworks Viewing
  • Wicked Wind Down
  • Enchantment at the Top Dessert Party

You can book either of these events by calling Member Services up to 60 days in advance.

Top of the World Lounge – Complimentary Fireworks Viewing

Starting January 1, 2026, Members can reserve a spot to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks from the outdoor terrace of Top of the World Lounge. (Indoor lounge seating is not included as part of this reservation and may not be included.)

Complimentary parking is included with this reservation and is available 2 hours before your reservation time. You’ll need to present a photo ID and your reservation confirmation to the security gate at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Wicked Wind Down

The Wicked Wind Down package is $55 per person plus tax and service fees.  It includes an appetizer, drink, a slice of the Seven “Lair” Cake, a reserved table inside the lounge, and a reserved area for fireworks viewing.

Complimentary parking is included with this reservation and is available 2 hours before your reservation time. You’ll need to present a photo ID and your reservation confirmation to the security gate at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

You can check in for your reservation at the Top of the World Lounge podium on the 16th floor as early as 60 to 90 minutes prior to Magic Kingdom fireworks time.

Enchantment at the Top Dessert Party (Offered Through 12/26/25)

The Enchantment at the Top Dessert Party is $89 per adult and $49 per child plus tax and service fees and includes a dessert buffet, an assortment of alcoholic beverages for adults 21 and over, a reserved table inside the lounge, and a reserved fireworks viewing area.  The dessert party only takes place on Friday nights and is ending as of December 26, 2025.

Complimentary parking is included with this reservation and is available 2 hours before your reservation time. You’ll need to present a photo ID and your reservation confirmation to the security gate at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Whether you walk up or do one of the special events, a visit to Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair can be a fun way to end your day!

Yes. I went up with a guest in April just to watch the fireworks. I was staying at AKL that trip. This was during the week, but not a Friday night.
