City of Anaheim Set to Approve Disneyland Hotel DVC Tower

The City of Anaheim appears to be set to approve plans for the proposed Disneyland Hotel Disney Vacation Club Tower this coming Monday, July 20th.

In a massive release of information uploaded to the cities website on Friday, we received many new details and specifics about what we can expect from this new DVC Property.

Based on the documents provided, the tower will be composed of 350 units, broken down into the following room types:

  • 38 Pod or Tower Studio Style Villas
  • 253 Dedicated Deluxe Studios
  • 1 Dedicated One-Bedroom Villa
  • 18 – Two Bedroom Lock-Off Villas (Deluxe Studio + One-Bedroom Villa)
  • 20 Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas
  • 2 Grand Villas

Worth noting is the apparent lack of balcony for both the Pod and Deluxe Studio level accommodations. Based on the provided room layouts, we are also led to believe that these rooms will also feature the pull-down Murphy Beds that have been prominently featured at Disney’s Riviera Resort and also added in the ongoing refurbishment of Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

The documents also outlined the expected occupancy rates for these new villas:

  • POD – 2 person occupancy
  • Deluxe Studio – 4 person occupancy
  • One Bedroom – 5 person occupancy
  • Two Bedroom – 9 person occupancy
  • Grand Villa – 12 person occupancy

A small number of vacation home units will also be located adjacent to the towers pool and recreational areas and are labeled as ”garden units”.

The first-floor plan includes a swimming pool, spa, bar, barbecue grill area, community hall, and fitness center, among other amenities. According to the released documents, the pool bar will include seating for up to twenty guests.

We also saw some additional artist renderings of the new tower, including details of the resorts pool and interactive Mickey Mouse water feature area, as well as a few other looks at the building’s overall appearance.

All signs indicate that the Disneyland Hotel DVC Tower is continuing to progress forward at full steam despite current park and resort closures. While no construction has begun yet on the structure, it was originally hoped that the new DVC property would be completed by 2023.
