The Villas at Disneyland Hotel DVC Construction Update – September 2022

Disneyland DVC Tower

Construction of the Disneyland Hotel Disney Vacation Club (DVC) tower is well underway, and we had a chance to take a look at its progress a few weeks ago! With an expected completion date sometime in 2023, this new tower will add 350 Disney Vacation Club villas to the Disneyland Hotel.

Disneyland Hotel’s DVC Tower appears to be making great progress, with construction already reaching the top floors. Glass is also already being installed to enclose the lower floors already completed. It is hard to determine how far along some of the lower floors are due to the limited view and construction walls.

At this year’s D23 Expo, we got a glimpse of the tower’s new logo, along with confirmation of the name “The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.” No additional details were provided to update on the status of this project.

As we reported previously, this 12-story tower is expected to include a variety of room accommodations, including smaller two-person studio villas, similar to the Tower Studio properties that are featured at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Proposed plans suggest that the resort will feature 271 Deluxe Studios, 38 smaller ‘Tower Studio’ style rooms, 19 One-Bedroom Villas, 20 Two-Bedroom Villas, and 2 Grand Villas.

The million-dollar question that remains unclear at this time is when this new DVC property will open and go on sale. Signs point to the second half of 2023 for an opening based on the current construction status. This would put sales for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel to likely begin in Spring 2023, and my money is on April. It also aligns with the recent news of a brand new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge coming to Disneyland Resort in the first half of 2023.

I don’t see the tower opening before the 4th quarter of 2023. Steel and the exterior is always much faster than interior work. People get excited to see how fast progress occurs during the early phases of construction, but then things seem to grind to a halt because interior finishes take time.
