We’re checking in to a newly refurbished Deluxe Studio at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa—but is this really the refresh we were hoping for?
Join us as we tour the updated room and share our honest thoughts on what’s changed… and what hasn’t. From new Murphy beds to subtle design tweaks, this hard goods refurbishment left us with mixed feelings. Is it a missed opportunity or just enough for now?
Let us know what you think of the update in the comments below!

July 24, 2025Enjoyed the tour. The Grand Cali is our home resort since 2015 and we always stay in studios, preferably on the 4th or 5th floors. I agree that a new showerhead, coffeemaker, and updated outlets with lots of USB ports would be appreciated. Also some kind of bedside shelf on the wall side. Artwork on the closed Murphy bed. One less telephone. Furniture should have been refinished. On the other hand, big thanks for leaving the table and chairs, the big closet, and the coffee table. The furniture in the room was built to last, and with some TLC should make it to 2060 (I’ll be 106!). I very much agree that there should have been the changes I’ve agreed on, but not much more. We’ll be there in September, and it will be a wonderful Welcom Home!
