As we shared earlier this week, Disney recently announced as part of the phased reopening of Disneyland Resort that Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will begin welcoming Disney Vacation Club members starting December 6. Earlier today, DVC released some additional information for those guests planning to visit the Grand Californian during its initial reopening period.
Here are a few key takeaways we thought you’d be interested in:
– All Disneyland Hotels, including the hotel side of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This reopening currently only pertains to the Disney Vacation Club portion of this resort.
– Face coverings are required for guests ages 2 and up and must be worn in all public and common areas.
– Guests are encouraged to download the Disneyland App on their mobile device before arriving at the resort. This will allow you to take advantage of mobile ordering, among other digital services.
– Enhanced cleaning measures are being implemented throughout the Grand Californian, similar to what we have seen at other Disney Vacation Club properties since their reopening.
– During the reopening period, only the Mariposa Pool and two whirlpool spas will be available. These will have reduced hours and reduced capacity to facilitate physical distancing.
– The following will NOT be available during the resorts initial reopening:
- Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
- All hotel dining including Napa Rose, Napa Rose Lounge, Storytellers Cafe, Hearthstone Lounge, GCH Craftsman Bar & Grill, and character dining
- Acorns Gifts & Goods
- In-room dining
- Art of Craft Tour
- Children’s lobby entertainment areas
- Instructor-led fitness classes
- Special classes and programs
- Character experiences
- Fountain Pool, Redwood Pool, and waterslides
- Disney Floral & Gifts
- Dry-cleaning and valet laundry services
- Shipping services
- Valet parking
All in all, it sounds like not much is going to be going on at the Grand Californian for a while. However, guests visiting the resort will be able to enjoy food and merchandise locations in Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street inside Disney’s California Adventure.
