DVC Declares Inventory at the Polynesian Island Tower

DVC has moved one step closer to selling points at the upcoming Polynesian Island Tower!  On July 31, 2024, Disney Vacation Development filed the sixth amendment to the declaration of Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This officially declared inventory at the Island Tower into the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows condo association.

Based on the documents filed with the Orange County Comptroller, the declared units include 40 rooms on the first, second, third, seventh, and ninth floors of the Island Tower.  Among the declared rooms are 9 Duo Studios, 14 Deluxe Studios, 4 One Bedroom Villas, 10 Two Bedroom Lock-off Villas, 1 Two Bedroom Villa, and 2 Two Bedroom Penthouse Villas.

Note that this staged approach to declared units is typical of DVC resort openings.  As sales progress, additional units will be declared into the condo association and become available for DVC members to book using points.  Any units that have not yet been declared into the association are available for cash stays booked through Disney.

A Closer Look at the Room Layouts

As previously revealed, the Island Tower will have a mix of Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, One Bedroom Villas, Two Bedroom Villas, and the new Two Bedroom Penthouse Villas.  With the latest filings, you can now see the various layouts for each room type.

Other Resort Amenities

The amendment also shed some light on what else we can expect at the Island Tower.  For those of us who have been pondering what the large square openings in the tower are, the schematics show that these will be “pocket gardens” that we surmise will be outdoor green spaces/viewing areas open to resort guests.

We also get a look at the new restaurant that will be part of the Island Tower, which Disney previously shared would have the first all-electric kitchen on Walt Disney World Resort property as part of Disney’s commitment to making this an eco-friendly resort.  From the drawings, you can see an area marked as “Indoor Dining” and another larger area marked as “Outdoor Dining and Bar.”

Past the restaurant and closer to the pool area, you can see an area labeled as “Fitness,” so it appears that the Polynesian will finally have its own fitness center.  Currently, the Polynesian does not have its own fitness center. Instead, guests are able to use the one at the neighboring Grand Floridian.

The restaurant layout looks just like Narcoosee’s.
