The 2024 D23 Convention is now in full swing in Anaheim, California, and we just got a sneak peek at the Disney Vacation Club booth, which revealed stunning new concept art and details about the upcoming Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows! Shoutout to Carrie Crevel from the DVC Fan Community for sharing these fantastic photos with us. Let’s dive into the details!
New Restaurant Coming to Polynesian Island Tower
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite subject—food! We’ve learned that the Polynesian Island Tower will feature a brand-new restaurant. The concept art showcases a beautiful space with large wooden columns adorned with intricate carvings, reflecting traditional Polynesian motifs. The color palette consists of warm earth tones—browns, beiges, and hints of gold—that enhance the natural, serene environment. Surrounded by lush greenery, the space exudes an indoor-outdoor feel, perfect for a tropical dining experience. Based on what we’ve seen, we believe there will also be an outdoor lounge or patio seating area as part of the restaurant.
To the far left of the image, there’s a bar or lounge area that promises to be a fantastic addition to both the restaurant and the nearby pool. The second image reveals an overhead installation featuring large fish, possibly representing marine life native to tropical or Polynesian waters. The restaurant appears to draw heavily from Polynesian or tropical inspirations, focusing on natural materials and designs that celebrate local culture and environment without any noticeable Disney IP or other touches.

Polynesian Pool Features Moana Splash Pad
One of the most exciting features we’ve seen taking shape at the Poly Tower’s construction site is the Moana-themed splash pad and water play area. The concept art depicts Moana navigating her wa’a kaulua on a magical oceanic journey, surrounded by fountains and water elements. This feature is reminiscent of the Steamboat Willie water-play area at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, offering a similar blend of fun and creativity.

Other concept art at the booth includes images of the rooms and various resort elements that were previously revealed. The rooms promise to be a delightful blend of comfort and style, drawing inspiration from Polynesian aesthetics.

The new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is scheduled to open on December 17th, 2024, and we can’t wait to experience everything it has to offer. While no information on when points will go on sale or when members can book with points has been revealed yet, we’re eagerly waiting for updates!
Disney Vacation Club Presence at D23
It’s worth noting that the Disney Vacation Club booth is conveniently located next to the Imagineering booth this year. This prime spot is sure to attract a lot of foot traffic, especially after Saturday’s Parks and Resorts reveals.
The Disney Vacation Club space at D23 also highlights other actively selling DVC properties, such as The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. With so much in store this weekend, we can only wonder if another DVC surprise or announcement is on the horizon?!

A big thank you to Carrie Crevel for sharing these incredible photos with us. Your contributions help the entire DVC Fan community stay informed and excited about the latest Disney Vacation Club developments!
Stay tuned to DVCFan.com and the DVC Fan Facebook Group for more news and information from this weekend’s D23 Convention!
