Just like clockwork, the pricing for the 2027 Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise has officially dropped and once again, it’s something you’ll need to be reaching deep into your pockets for to book!
This sailing, departing from San Diego with two full days in San Francisco, is shaping up to be another unique and memory-filled voyage for Members. But as we have seen time and time again, exclusivity comes at a premium. The question remains the same as always: are the so called “extras” worth the price?
Let’s take a closer look at the numbers!

The Cost Breakdown for the 2027 DVC Member Cruise
As with previous years, Members must book at least double occupancy. Below are three stateroom examples based on pricing per person, along with totals for two guests.
11C Standard Inside Stateroom
- DVC Points: 385 points per person
- Cash Price: $3,684 per person
- Total for Two: 770 points or $7,368
This is the least expensive option on the ship and still requires a sizable points commitment or nearly $7,400 in cash for a couple.
6A Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda
- DVC Points: 460 points per person
- Cash Price: $4,402 per person
- Total for Two: 920 points or $8,804
For many Members, a verandah is non-negotiable. But crossing the 900-point threshold for a weeklong sailing is where things start to feel especially steep.
3A Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda
- DVC Points: 960 points per person
- Cash Price: $9,187 per person
- Total for Two: 1,920 points or $18,374
Yes, you read that correctly. Nearly 2,000 DVC points or over $18,000 for two people before adding anything extra.
And speaking of extras…
Adventures by Disney Add-On Pricing
Once again, Disney is offering an optional pre-cruise Adventures by Disney Disneyland Resort and Southern California Escape.
Pricing for the three-day experience is:
- 314 points per person or $2,999 per person
- For two guests, that totals: 628 points or $5,998
Now let’s do the math.
If a couple books the 3A Concierge stateroom and adds the Adventures by Disney escape, they are looking at:
2,548 total DVC Points
or
$24,372 Total Cash
That is a staggering number by any measure!

What Makes This Sailing Unique?
To be fair, there is no perfect apples-to-apples comparison for this itinerary.
This 2027 DVC Member Cruise departs from San Diego and includes two full days in San Francisco. That extended San Francisco stay alone is something you simply do not see on most mainstream cruise itineraries. If that is something high on your bucket list, it is hard to assign a simple dollar value to it.
Beyond the ports, Member Cruises traditionally feature:
- Exclusive entertainment with Disney insiders and special guests
- Unique merchandise only available onboard
- Special events tailored specifically to Disney Vacation Club Members
- A community atmosphere filled entirely with fellow Disney fans
Those “extras” are part of what makes these sailings special. But they are also built into the price.
How Does It Compare to Other Cruise Options?
For comparison purposes, I priced out a 7-Night Cabo Catalina and Ensenada sailing aboard Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas.
That itinerary departs from Los Angeles and visits Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, and Ensenada. For fun, I priced Amy and me in a junior suite for that exact sailing.
- Total cost for two people: $3,845.68.
- Not per person. Total.
That means two people in a suite on Royal Caribbean would pay less than a couple in an inside stateroom on the 2027 DVC Member Cruise.
Now, some will say that is not a fair comparison. Different cruise line. Different vibe. Different onboard offerings. And I agree with much of that.
But the price gap is significant.
Are the “Extras” Worth It?
This trend is nothing new. DVC Member Cruises have not been inexpensive for a long time. Each year, pricing seems to reaffirm that these are boutique, premium experiences aimed at Members who prioritize exclusivity and Disney connection above all else.
I will also say this.
Amy and I sailed on a Member Cruise several years ago, and we had an absolutely tremendous time. The exclusive shows, the guest speakers, the camaraderie, and the little surprises throughout the week made it incredibly memorable.

There truly are specialty elements that you simply cannot replicate on a traditional cruise.
But at these price points, I cannot ignore the reality that we could take two cruises elsewhere for the same amount of money or points.
Ultimately, whether this sailing is worth it comes down to one thing: how you personally value those “extras” and the opportunity to sail alongside an entire ship of Disney Vacation Club Members.
Final Thoughts
The 2027 DVC Member Cruise is unique. It is exclusive. It is likely to sell out.
It is also very expensive.
If you have the points or the cash and this itinerary speaks to you, it could be the trip of a lifetime. But if you are like us and weighing opportunity cost, you may find yourself looking at alternative cruise options that stretch your vacation dollars much further.
