With the launch of add-on sales for this highly anticipated property, DVC is placing nearly all its energy into enticing members to purchase points at the Polynesian. Spotlight on Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
The star of the show this fall is undeniably Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and for good reason. After much anticipation, add-on sales for the Polynesian officially launched yesterday, October 1st, 2024, offering members the first opportunity to add points at this beloved resort. As we covered in our deep dive article yesterday, the Polynesian offers attractive incentives for members purchasing points, with savings that grow depending on the number of points you buy.
While Polynesian’s base price of $225 per point may seem steep at first glance, the incentives available for add-on purchases, especially with larger point buys, make this offer on par with what we expected for the Polynesian. Buyers looking to become first-time DVC owners can also look forward to new member sales launching on October 29th, 2024, with further incentives likely to be announced at that time.
A Slowdown in Incentives for Other Resorts
While Polynesian is getting the royal treatment this fall, other actively selling DVC properties are seeing a significant decline in incentives compared to earlier in the year. Notably, there is no “Welcome Home” offer this time around, meaning that price reductions for resorts like Riviera, Aulani, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are less appealing than we’ve seen in past seasons.
For members who were hoping to see a continuation of summer’s aggressive pricing strategies, this may come as a disappointment. The lack of substantial incentives, especially in light of previous offers, may signal that DVC is concentrating all of its efforts on driving sales at Polynesian.
No Offers for Sold-Out Resorts
Another notable change this fall is the absence of any offers for sold-out resorts. Earlier in the year, DVC introduced exciting incentives for resorts like Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower, and Saratoga Springs, which brought down the price per point for members looking to purchase direct at these older properties. However, this fall, there are no such offers on the table, signaling a shift away from this sales strategy—at least for now.
