The long-awaited resurrection of Disney Lakeshore Lodge (previously Reflections, A Disney Lakeside Lodge) is now impossible to ignore. As of July 2025, towering concrete, A-frames, and pilings are rising fast across Bay Lake, visible from Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge. With Destination D23 just around the corner, we’re bringing you all the construction intel, plus a dash of educated guesswork, on what’s coming next for this huge DVC adventure.
What’s Been Happening Nearby?
Fort Wilderness Upgrades
- New DVC Welcome Home Center: Opened in June beside Pioneer Hall, offering cabin model tours and DVC Sales meetings. This strategic placement lines up neatly with the construction progress you can already see looming behind it.
- Meadows Pool Refresh: Upgrades at Fort Wilderness’ secondary pool area are underway, with well-timed upgrades for increased guest flow with Lakeshore Lodge on the horizon.
- Updated Reception Signage: A subtle but meaningful update, WDWNT noted new signage with the Disney Vacation Club logo at the Fort Wilderness check‑in outpost, signaling the resort’s evolving identity.

Lakeshore Lodge: The Building
Size & Scale
- Already looks to be 7–8 stories tall, with potential for up to 10 stories. Definitely an imposing presence across Bay Lake!
- Total of ~900 rooms, estimated to be all DVC accommodations: Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, 1‑, 2‑, and 3‑Bedroom Villas, plus something special (more on that below).

Current Stage
- Construction is in the rough-in stage: concrete core rising, some areas wrapped in exterior sheathing, while others remain bare for now.
Cottages & A‑Frame Cabin Speculation
- A‑Frame Cabins: I spotted at least two emerging from the treeline, likely 2‑3 bedroom offerings based on their scale.
- Elevated Shoreline Cabins: Pilings on the shoreline hint at the elevated cabin structures seen in Reflections‑era concept art. Not official yet, but definitely intriguing possibilities.

Special Room Types on the Horizon
While definitive details remain scarce, the construction size and site layout suggest the inclusion of unique guest accommodations. Perhaps the previously teased signature suites, extended family villas, or convertible flex rooms that offer more variety to Members and Guests.
Aerial Photos Reveal Just How Big Lakeshore Lodge Really Is
Nothing captures the true scale of Disney Lakeshore Lodge like the recent aerial photography from @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter). These high-up shots put everything into perspective, especially just how large the main resort building and surrounding development footprint really are.
One particularly exciting revelation? I was definitely off in my earlier count of A-Frame cabins. What I initially spotted as two under construction from ground level has now grown significantly. In these aerials, you can clearly count at least seven A-Frame cabins actively being built, with cleared ground and foundations suggesting space for up to 12 or more total.

This reinforces the likelihood that we’ll see a dedicated line of shoreline cabin accommodations, likely featuring larger DVC units aimed at families or groups looking for privacy, views, and direct Bay Lake access.
Timeline & Expectations
- Anticipated opening: 2027
- Given current construction pace, early to mid‑2027 seems realistic, especially if no major delays happen.
- Expect major news and updates at Destination D23 (late August), where Disney typically releases floor plans, room previews, and more details.

July 23, 2025More hotels, less crowds and no new attractions just re themed them. No benefits for DVC members anymore. Sold my OKW 300 points in 2022. Bought them 1997. Being going since 1977 and can longer afford it. Need a no ride senior discount ticket. Still can visit, shop, eat and enjoy the atmosphere. Shame

July 23, 2025Going to be Big, all DVC is that correct? If so how’s does that compare to other size resort. Makes the thoughts of Direct points having more and more value and or power to book newer resorts over time length of deed pass 2042 a bigger decision. As after 2042 resorts booking starts to have a large impact at the 7 month booking options.
