Over two years after we caught wind of a potential paid perks program for Disney Vacation Club, we’re finally getting it. Disney Vacation Club has officially announced a new paid benefits program called “Membership Magic Beyond.”
What is the DVC Paid Perks Program?
Disney Vacation Club is introducing the “Membership Magic Beyond” option—a yearly enhanced benefits package that gives you special ways to elevate your family’s stays. Members can now opt-in to this new level of membership extras for an annual fee of $99, starting December 3, 2024, for usage from January 12th through December 31st, 2025. Important Information About the Membership Magic Beyond Option
The Membership Magic Beyond option is part of Membership Extras, which requires an ownership interest of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney as of June 3, 2021. This benefit is subject to availability, change, or termination. A yearly enrollment fee applies, and all offers are subject to availability. Special ticket and Annual Pass offers are not included in the ownership interest and may change or end at any time. The Membership Magic Beyond option follows the terms in the Membership Extras Acknowledgment and Disclosure Statement and the 2025 Membership Magic Beyond option Terms & Conditions.
Since Membership Magic Beyond is a direct benefit, it is not available to DVC resale owners. Only members who have purchased points directly from Disney are eligible to enroll in this program and access these exclusive perks.
Is the DVC Paid Perks Program Worth It?
Does it leave a sour taste that many of these benefits are now part of a paid program? Sure—but it doesn’t mean it’s the worst idea in the world, especially if it is executed well.
On the surface, this program might not seem worthwhile, but if it ends up saving you $100, especially on tickets or annual passes, it will pay for itself. I hope that as the program rolls out, Disney will add more benefits to make it even more valuable. A few years ago, when this was just a rumor, we had wished for perks like discounted park tickets, quick service food discounts, more member lounges, private fireworks viewing areas, and more. We’ve already received some of these, such as discounted tickets and new member lounges, so I’m optimistic that more perks are on the way.
Let’s all be honest—we’ve spent $99 on far crazier things! Whatever is offered, you can be certain I’ll be signing up on day one and letting you know my thoughts.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned for more updates about the DVC “Membership Magic Beyond” program as they become available! What do you think about this new paid member perks program? What would you like to see offered? Will you be joining?

October 16, 2024I think I’m annoyed by this lol, I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts, as I know it’ll be covered on a Monday show. If I was going to DL, I’d be tempted for the 3 days pass but otherwise, hard pass

October 16, 2024I’d like to know what the point conversion is for the Sorcerer’s Pass

October 16, 2024If the discounted weekday park passes end up being a better deal than our current discounted annual passes, it may be an enticing perk. Lord knows, the current Sorcerers pass even with the DVC discount is getting excruciatingly expensive. The saving grace for us is that going twice a year, it’s still a better deal than a regular priced 5 day hopper for 2 vacations. That’s why I’m gonna look hard at the pricing

October 16, 2024Such an excellent point, Jim! We’re in the exact same boat that you’re in. We go 2-3 times per year, usually 1-2 weeks at a time. We didn’t renew our season pass this year b/c it was thousands of dollars for the 4 of us. Our next trip is in a few weeks – I am hoping that this discounted pass will give us a decent enough discount to not have to buy a season pass anymore.

October 16, 2024I’m right there with you, Jim! Our family didn’t renew our annual pass this past July b/c it’s a small fortune for the 4 of us. We go 2-3 times per year, staying 1-2 weeks each time but even with that, we’re choosing to stay at the resorts or even buy an evening Party at one of the parks now vs. shelling out thousands of dollars. Disney World is becoming a place where even if you own DVC points, it’s too expensive. And that stinks so bad b/c we love it there so much.

October 16, 2024I’m a little disappointed. I was hoping it would have been offered to ALL members whether they purchased their contract direct or non-direct. Since, I purchased my contract on the resale market, I definitely would have purchased the Paid Perks Program in order to get some of the extra benefits.
Cathy
October 16, 2024Yes and I would like to see some sort of good plan discount included.

October 16, 2024So, one thing that isn’t very clear, do you now have to purchase this benefit to get access to the lounges period?
Paul Krieger
October 16, 2024We do not believe that is the case. You gain priority access to the lounges with this benefit.

October 16, 2024I’m curious how solid the rumors were two years ago, I remember the initial post. As someone in product (at another very large company) there’s been numerous products we’ve released only after someone started a very good rumor.
Overall I don’t think the price is unreasonable, but I suspect its going to work very well for some and not at all for others. Since they’re really not taking anything away I feel it’s hard to be upset. Even if the perks are an additional outlay.g

October 16, 2024Will this be by Member or Membership?
If you have two people on one Membership, do you need to buy just one Perk to cover both parties?
If you have two Use Years, do you need to buy two sets of Perks?
If you have two Memberships with a shared Use Year, do you need to buy two sets of Perks?
And, if you have multiple people on multiple contracts, across multiple Use Years, how many Perks will be required?
Paul Krieger
October 16, 2024You will only purchase the benefit once.

October 16, 2024If you are a blue card member with 150 points but also have resale. Will you be able to use your resale contract to trade for a sorcerer pass? I am sure for a larger family (family 6)they will need more than 150 points.
Jason
October 16, 2024It all depends on what discounted price is on 5 day ticket.
Also memory make seems good right there. Can those 30days be split amount multiple trips ?
Melissa Floyd
October 16, 2024I think it’s very interesting that they want you to turn in points for a pass. What do they want all those points for? This perk doesn’t help me because I only bought resale but if I could get it I probably would for the discounted tickets and memory maker. It’s a slippery slope thou, before they make all the perks paid for perks.
Keith
October 16, 2024Glad to see this new program being rolled out for direct purchases only. Wanting to know, like all, how many points will it take for the annual pass? And also, can resale purchased points be used for the annual pass purchase. I have both resale and direct points, so I just need to understand how to better budget my points moving forward.

October 16, 2024I’m trying to figure out what I’m missing to figure out how this would benefit Hubby and I. We are both Blue Card and resale. We also are AP holders with a Pirate Pass. We get a Memory Maker discount ($99). We have been to the new Lounge in DS and it’s very nice. We’ve never had an issue getting into the Epcot Lounge. As Florida residents,we appreciate having a monthly budget plan for the AP, otherwise we probably couldn’t afford it. Actually,we’d be very happy if they’d just bring back Tables In Wonderland. We’d be all set with savings with that…….

October 16, 2024Disney has jumped the shark.
