It’s been over a year since we have lived in Florida and finally decided to head over to the Lakeland Antiques Mall to see what sorts of Disney and DVC goodies we might find. You might be asking yourself what on earth is the Lakeland Antiques Mall? In a town called Lakeland, Florida, about 60-90 minutes southwest of Disney World is a giant “mall” filled with collectibles, antiques, and junk sold from over 250 vendors. It really reminds me of a big yard sale. The most notable thing about this place is there is always old stuff from Disney parks and resorts. Because we were curious as to what we might find and we actually live pretty close by, we decided to check it out. Here’s what we found!

Textiles

For starters, there were a ton of textiles from pillows, curtains, and bed runners. On the shelves were lots of pillows from Saratoga Springs’s refurbished rooms and they looked new so they must have been from overstock. We also saw pillows from BoardWalk Villas that also looked new. Grand Floridan and Bay Lake Tower both had pillows that were obviously in used condition. Next up were bed runners from Saratoga Springs (pre-refurb) and Animal Kingdom Lodge as well as other non-DVC Disney resorts. There was even an old Polynesian hotel pillow from before the refurb. Pillows were in the $20 range- expensive for an old used pillow, not bad for something newer, and priceless if you love Disney resorts enough.

Furniture

We saw a decent amount of furniture randomly throughout the mall. Not DVC related, but I found it interesting that you could basically recreate the entire Pirate-themed room from Caribbean Beach Resort as many pieces from those rooms ended up here. And let me tell you, based on the condition of these pieces, the refurbishment was much needed. They even had a coffee table from Disney Cruise Line! Notable furniture items related to DVC were mostly from Boulder Ridge such as chairs and dressers. I imagine that as the refurbishment continues, we will see more Boulder Ridge items show up. The prices varied. But most furniture was at least $100+.

Decor

In addition to furniture and soft goods, we explored a lot of random decorations from the hotel rooms such as photos, mirrors, and lamps. Things we recognized from DVC resorts included large artwork from Boulder Ridge, mirrors from BoardWalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Old Key West ocean-themed art. Additionally, there was also some décor from the Grand Floridian lobby. The prices of these items varied greatly. Some of the larger pieces were easily over $100.

There were also some things you had to ask yourself, who would buy this, especially for $90!

Case and point…

And just because, we couldn’t go home without anything. I did love the BoardWalk pillows and although I’m leery about “used” fabric products, they looked to be brand new and I still washed it once we got home. I love that I could bring a little bit of my favorite resort to my home office.

In addition to old Disney hotel items, we found Disney Vacation Club merchandise such as old DVC games, cups, bags, etc. Some of the prices though were similar to what you would find on eBay. However, there were also some deals to be found if you looked enough.

Final Thoughts

If you ever find your way out towards Lakeland, Florida and consider dropping into the Lakeland Antiques Mall, you should! You never know what Disney and DVC-related goodies you might find. Afterward, Lakeland has some fantastic restaurants to experience.
