Ranking the Unique DVC Accommodations at Disney World

Polynesian Bungalow

If you are traveling as a group of 8 guests, you could book a Two Bedroom Villa.  However, if points are no object, there are a few fun options as alternatives.  There’s the Bora Bora Bungalows at the Polynesian, the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs, and the Cascade Cabins at Copper Creek.  Each of these are standalone accommodations that offer features you don’t find in a regular Two Bedroom Villa.  Here is how I would rank the unique DVC accommodations based on their amenities.

#3: Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs

Treehouse Villa at Saratoga Springs

If peace and quiet are what you would like for your vacation, the rustic Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs offer a quiet respite as perhaps the most secluded DVC accommodations.  They are tucked away in their own section of the resort and have access to their own pool.  While not literal treehouses, these elevated buildings have their own private decks with an outdoor table and chairs. They have three bedrooms and sleep up to 9 guests rather than 8 as the Bora Bora Bungalows and Cascade Cabins do.  The treehouses can be an ideal spot if you just want to relax and maybe hop on the boat to Disney Springs.  As a bonus, they are relatively economical at 38 to 76 points per night.

While the remote nature of the treehouses makes them peaceful, it also means that they are far from the parks and resort amenities at the Carriage House.  If you don’t have your own car, they can be inconvenient since you have to transfer buses in order to head to the parks.  It’s also worth noting that the Treehouse Villas are the only part of Saratoga Springs that has not been refurbished yet.

#2: Bora Bora Bungalows at the Polynesian

2 Bedroom Bungalow
Bora Bora Bungalows at the Polynesian

The two bedroom Bora Bora Bungalows are a private piece of paradise along the Seven Seas Lagoon and have beautiful views of the Magic Kingdom.  The bungalows have their own plunge pool on the deck, and you can even hear the Happily Ever soundtrack piped in.  In 2022, they had a soft goods refurbishment, so the rooms are still fresh.  Although the bungalows are not the closest buildings to the Great Ceremonial House where the restaurants and monorail station are located, they are still within walking distance.  They are also close to the boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom.

The biggest downside to the Bora Bora Bungalows are their point values.  At 112 to 226 points a night, they are perhaps the most expensive room type among DVC accommodations, rivaling even the larger Three Bedroom Grand Villas.  Some guests also find the boat horns to be a bit of a nuisance in the morning.

#1: Copper Creek Cascade Cabins

Cascade Cabin at Copper Creek

The Cascade Cabins blend some of the best aspects of the unique accommodations: They are more private than a traditional Two Bedroom Villa, but they aren’t far from the resort amenities or even the Magic Kingdom.  The waterfront rustic chic cabins have two bedrooms and have a wrap-around porch that is screened-in with a hot tub and a double-sided fireplace.  Some even have fireworks views of the Magic Kingdom.  While not exactly low in point value, they are cheaper than the Bora Bora Bungalows for the same guest capacity at 84 to 196 points per night.

Among these three unique DVC accommodations, which would you choose?
