If you were looking forward to the quarterly DVC condo association meetings this fall, well, you are out of luck. DVC condo association meetings for Florida-based resorts are now reverting back to annual meetings instead of the quarterly meetings that have been hosted since late 2024.
What Are the Condo Association Meetings?
These regular meetings provide DVC Members with updates, refurbishment timelines, and officially approve proposed budgets for the upcoming year.
Why Is This Changing?
In July 2025, Florida passed new legislation that changed the requirements for the management of condo associations, including those of the DVC resorts.
Which Resorts Are Affected?
This change from quarterly meetings to annual meetings only impacts the associations of the Florida-based DVC resorts, with the exception of the Cabins at Fort Wilderness:
- Animal Kingdom Villas
- Bay Lake Tower
- Beach Club
- BoardWalk
- Boulder Ridge
- Copper Creek
- Grand Floridian
- Old Key West
- Polynesian
- Saratoga Springs
- Riviera
- Vero Beach
DVC resorts outside of Florida as well as the Cabins at Fort Wilderness will continue to have annual meetings as they have in the past.
When Is the Next Condo Association Meeting?
According to the DVC website, annual board and Member meetings are typically scheduled between October and December, but no specific dates have been given. More to come!
Our Thoughts
The big question that remains for us at DVC Fan is whether we will be back to a single annual meeting for all DVC resorts or if each resort’s condo association will host its own annual meeting. The language on the DVC website is a little ambiguous and only states that “Details regarding the meetings will be shared at a later date.”
The DVC website notes that “Members can still communicate with the Resort association boards by calling Member Services, or sending emails and requests through the Member website.” However, there was great value in hosting separate meetings with updates tailored for each resort.
The separate meetings also gave Members a chance to voice concerns specific to their home resorts. Most notably, they offered more opportunities for questions, and they were not limited to questions pertaining to the budget. Our hope is that these individual resort meetings continue, even if annual instead of quarterly. The Frequently Asked Questions on the DVC website seem to suggest this is still possible:
Q3: Which board and Member meetings can Members attend?
A: Members can only attend board and Member meetings for the resorts in which they have an ownership interest.
