DVC Member Services Experiences All Day System Outage

DVC Member Services

Update 3/19/24 6:00pm, EST: DVC Member Services has closed early as a result of today’s outage. In a message on the Disney Vacation Club website, they state: “Member Services will be closing early on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 and will reopen on Wednesday, March 20 at 9 AM Eastern Time.”

If you started today planning to book that Disney Vacation Club getaway for you and your family, think again! DVC Member Services has experienced a complete system outage today, going on six hours as of writing this blog!

As someone excited to look into booking The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort via a cash reservation this morning, I called right at 9 am only to be told all systems and access to booking and member information were unavailable. Since then, DVC Members now receive an automated message informing them of the outage when calling Member Services. Online DVC Member Services Chat Representatives also stated:

At this time, we are currently experiencing a temporary system outage that limits the access we have to our systems. We anticipate this update should be completed soon, but we do not have an ETA at this time.

Disney Vacation Club Member Services

As we know from experience, communication has never been a strong suit of DVC, which is why I wasn’t surprised at all when social media posts and marketing emails went out midday informing members that they could now book The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort via cash. As exciting as that might sound, Olaf and the Seven Dwarves have other ideas.

Although frustrations with the Disney Vacation Club booking system have become the norm for Members, this is one of the more prolonged outages since early 2022. Maybe it’s just yet another sign that the Cabins were a bad idea?

We will never know the true reason for the downtime, but it is unfortunate for the Members who woke up this morning planning to book that hard-to-get room within the 11-month window. But don’t worry – access will be restored soon at some point greater than six hours from now…

DVC already has our money so the old saying applies…Fat Cats (or mice in this case) Don’t Hunt. There’s no incentive for providing dependable IT other than just doing the right thing. Like most of us, I’m not selling my contract due to this.

Thanks for the update. I was able to contact member services via chat early (west coast) and got the noncommittal party line. Now it looks like they have shutdown member services. We will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Also this is the only DVC site to mention the outage. Keep up the great work.
