UPDATE 2/24/2026 1:39PM EST: Olaf appears to have found his head, and the website is breathing signs of life for the first time today when attempting to book or check DVC Availability.
It has been a long day for many Members as reports of a Disney Vacation Club website outage began circulating early this morning. Since then, widespread issues have prevented Members from logging in, checking Disney Vacation Club availability, or booking upcoming stays.
As of 12:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the ability to book or check availability on the DVC website remains down with no estimated time of resolution. And while we do not yet have an image of Olaf throwing his head in frustration, the mood across the Membership might best be described as a summer meltdown.
What Is Happening With the Disney Vacation Club Website?
Since early this morning, Members attempting to access the official Disney Vacation Club website have encountered a recurring error message:

In short, the system is not allowing users to access availability tools or complete bookings. For Members hoping to snag that deluxe studio at the 7 or 11-Month Booking Window, this is less than magical timing.
The outage appears to impact:
- Viewing resort availability
- Booking new reservations
- Modifying existing stays
- Logging into Member accounts
At this time, browsing general informational pages may still work intermittently, but booking functionality is largely unavailable.
What Does “400 Bad Request, Request Header or Cookie Too Large” Mean?
For our IT savvy readers, you probably already know the answer. For the rest of us, here is a simplified breakdown.
A 400 Bad Request error typically means the server cannot process the request being sent by your browser. When it says request header or cookie too large, it generally points to data being sent from your browser to the website that exceeds size limits.
In plain English, something in the communication between your browser and the DVC servers is too big or malformed for the system to handle properly.
Could this be resolved by clearing cookies? In some cases on other websites, yes. However, given the widespread nature of today’s outage and confirmation from Member Services, this appears to be a broader system issue rather than an individual browser glitch.
Or as we will call it for today, a “high techy techy boo boo”.
Has Disney Vacation Club Confirmed the Issue?
Yes – According to reports from Members who have contacted DVC Member Services, the team has confirmed this is a system-wide technical problem that they are actively working to resolve.
At this time:
- No official ETA has been provided
- Booking functionality remains unavailable
- Availability tools are not consistently loading
We will continue to monitor for updates.
How Is This Affecting Member Services Wait Times?
As you might imagine, when the website goes down, the phones light up.
Members are reporting:
- Higher than normal hold times
- Longer waits for online chat support
If you are attempting to book a high-demand stay or modify an existing reservation, patience may be required today.
This also serves as a reminder that peak booking windows, especially at the seven-month mark, can already bring increased traffic. Adding a system outage to the mix naturally compounds demand on Member Services.
What Should Members Do Right Now?
While we wait for service to be restored, here are a few suggestions:
- Avoid repeatedly refreshing the page, which may not help and could add strain.
- Consider clearing browser cookies only if you want to test locally, but understand this likely will not solve the broader issue.
- If your booking is time sensitive, try contacting Member Services and prepare for longer than usual wait times.
- Monitor DVC Fan for updates as we learn more.
Stay tuned to DVCFan.com and the DVC Fan Facebook Group for more information as it becomes available!
