Additional filings related to The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort have given us some insight into the potential per night point cost for this new DVC resort!

Declaration of Trust Property Points

In recent filings, Disney Vacation Development declared 229,820 points in a section of the resort that includes Units 1A and 1H. Simple calculations based on this information suggest an average cost per night for booking these cabins at around 21 points. Remember, this number can fluctuate based on seasonality.

Affordability of The Cabins

This is fantastic news for DVC members! It makes The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort a highly affordable accommodation option. To put it into perspective, a theme park view Resort Studio at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa can require anywhere from 24 to 54 points per night in 2024.

There were initial concerns that Disney Vacation Club would price nights at The Cabins much higher, but these estimates prove otherwise. This moderate pricing may broaden their appeal, particularly among guests who previously booked The Cabins as a cash option.

Total Points Available for Sale

This information allows us to estimate that the resort will have roughly 2,750,000 points available for sale. Comparatively, this total point size falls just under that of the original Grand Floridian Villas and below Beach Club Villas, which sold approximately 3 Million points.

Potential for Fixed Use Periods

Interestingly, documents filed for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort also suggest that as much as 35% of the resort can be sold as “Fixed Use Periods” or what DVC members commonly refer to as fixed weeks. This percentage is significantly higher than standard DVC Resorts and may appeal to those who have traditionally vacationed in The Cabins during a specific time each year. This aligns with the likely popularity of fixed-week bookings for the Cabins during the Halloween and Christmas seasons.

What’s Next?

These filings give us a fascinating look into what DVC members can expect from The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. We expect more information on this new resort and the announcement of initial sales to be coming very soon. As always, stay tuned to DVCFan.com for more information as it becomes available!
