Site Prep Underway for Cabin Construction
Fencing and ground protection are in the process of being set up ahead of the arrival of the new Fort Wilderness DVC Cabins. Construction is expected to unfold in phases, with entire loops being whisked away and replaced with the new DVC cabins. It’s expected that this process will continue throughout the summer, with each loop brought online once completed.

Limited Availability for July Grand Opening
Although we all have our calendars marked for July 1, 2024, when The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are expected to open, there will be limited availability at that time. Initially, we expect approximately thirty cabins will be ready to welcome their first guests that day, within the 2300 Loop—as suggested in filings earlier this month.
We can’t wait to see the project unfold in the coming months and have an older cash cabin booked for July 1st just so we can be there on opening day and share all the excitement with you. Stay tuned to DVCFan.com and the DVC Fan Facebook Group for more updates, insights, and all the latest Disney Vacation Club has to offer!

January 27, 2024While the DVC is nice,I think the cabins are a poor choice for DVC. They should have been left for use by anyone who wished to book them. Plus these “container cabins,” do not reflect the spirit of the Fort Wolderness Campground. Instead they should have been used in the now cancelled Eco-hotel between the campground and the Wilderness Lodge.

January 27, 2024I’m definitely having mixed feelings about this. I like the idea of using less points and getting a bigger room than let’s say all studios. I even kinda like the camping aspect or cabin aspect. I love the dog option even though we always fly so that doesn’t affect us. On the other hand, it isn’t in a good location and I do worry about this becoming a trend like when they build Riviera. Not really near anything, but sold as a “deluxe” resort. Riviera is the new shiny object but we’ll see how excited people are in 8 years.
