TRON Lightcycle / Run Overlay Celebrates Tron: Ares at Magic Kingdom

Fans of TRON are about to see the Grid in a whole new light. Beginning September 15, 2025, TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom will debut a brand-new overlay inspired by the upcoming film Tron: Ares. Shanghai Disneyland will also receive this limited-time transformation starting September 16.

What Is the TRON: Ares Overlay?

Announced at Destination D23 during the Walt Disney Studios showcase, the overlay will replace the familiar blue and orange tones of TRON Lightcycle / Run with striking red and orange light trails. Guests will feel the pulse of the Grid as they race through twisting tunnels in this refreshed high-speed experience.

Music by Nine Inch Nails

To elevate the immersive feel, the ride will feature an industrial soundtrack from Nine Inch Nails. This new score, combined with the glowing visuals of Tron: Ares, creates a thrilling atmosphere that pushes the ride’s adrenaline factor even further.

Where and When Can Guests Experience It?

Magic Kingdom (Walt Disney World Resort): September 15, 2025 Shanghai Disneyland: September 16, 2025

Both overlays will be available for a limited time only to celebrate the release of Tron: Ares.
