This week’s Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Quarterly Condo Association Meeting for owners of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort brought some exciting news about future developments at the resort. Special thanks to Jeanette Sugg, who attended the meeting and shared these updates with our DVC Fan Facebook Community. If you love Fort Wilderness, you’re going to want to hear what’s in store!
Pool Upgrades: Enhancements Are on the Way
One of the most intriguing announcements centered on the pools at Fort Wilderness. While specific details remain under wraps, DVC management assured owners that enhancements are in the works, and they believe members will love what’s coming.
As part of the transformation of The Cabins into a DVC property, the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool has been included in the DVC Condo Association. This pool, known for its calm and tranquil vibe, is a quiet retreat compared to the more bustling Meadow Swimmin’ Pool. It also features a whirlpool spa, making it a great spot to relax after a day of exploring the resort.

What could these upgrades entail? While we can only speculate for now, it’s clear that Disney has plans to elevate the pool experience for both DVC Members and resort guests. Whether it’s a refreshed design, added amenities, or enhanced landscaping, we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
A New DVC Sales Center Near Pioneer Hall
Perhaps the most significant news from the meeting was the announcement of plans for a DVC Sales Center near Pioneer Hall. This development comes as no surprise, given the close proximity of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge project, which is set to open in 2027.

The proposed Sales Center may also double as a community hall for Cabin owners and guests. While the details are still in development, this multi-functional space could provide a valuable gathering spot for DVC Members and visitors alike.
The Palmetto Trust Predicament?
The connection between The Cabins at Fort Wilderness and Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge was a hot topic at the meeting. Although DVC management didn’t confirm or deny whether the two properties would merge amenities and benefits under the Palmetto Trust, the idea seems increasingly likely. Adding a Sales Center at Fort Wilderness makes sense, especially with future DVC development planned for the area.
Work continues on converting the Cabins at Fort Wilderness into a DVC property, with an anticipated completion date of Summer 2025. As we watch this transformation unfold, it’s exciting to think about how these upgrades will enhance the resort’s charm and appeal.
