Analysis: Are These Incentives Worth It?
Less Savings, Higher Prices
While DVC is still offering discounts, the savings per point have decreased at most resorts compared to previous promotions. At the same time, base per-point prices have increased, meaning that even with the available discounts, buyers will still be paying more overall than in previous sales.
For example, the Cabins at Fort Wilderness had savings of up to $33 per point in the last round of incentives. Under this new promotion, the highest discount is $29 per point—while the base price increased by $10 per point. This means that even with the best available discount, buyers today are paying more than they would have just a month ago.
Best Value Resorts in This Round
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel – Strongest incentives overall, especially for new members.
Disney’s Riviera Resort – Although price increases hurt its value, incentives remain competitive.
Aulani – This resort has some of the highest per-point discounts for new members, making it a potential sweet spot for buyers looking for value.
For those already planning to purchase direct, these incentives help offset the recent price increases. However, compared to previous promotions, the value of this round of incentives is lower, meaning that waiting for a future promotion or exploring the resale market might be a better financial decision for some buyers.
