Paul lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Amy, and their three Spanish galgos, Hermès, Cinders, and Emerson. They’re Disney Vacation Club Members at five resorts, Disney World Annual Passholders, and always on the lookout for new ways to enjoy and maximize their DVC points. When he’s not at the parks or planning their next trip, Paul loves cooking (big Alton Brown fan), training for Disney races with Amy, and blasting Billy Joel in the background.

Great show.
Best way to pay dues if you can pay it upfront is to buy Disney gift cards at Sam’s Club. You get 5% off on the cards. I got a new credit card that paid 5% in rewards for the first 90 days. Disney has a website to combine gift cards.
Saved me 10%.

I second paying by Disney Gift card. Bought gift cards at the grocery store; used a credit card with 6% back. Then used that store’s fuel rewards program to get the equivalent of another 12% back in free fuel. I’ll take 18% off the price of my dues every day of the week!

I find its easier to pay it off monthly, They take it out of my checking acct and it’s done.

I have found a “Best of Both Worlds” method. I pay myself monthly into a high-yield money market account. Then, when the maintenance fees are due, I go to Target and buy discounted gift cards to pay the dues and use the funds in the money market account to pay the bill. If I run into any better deals on gift cards throughout the year, I can take advantage of those as well, as long as the funds are available in the account. This way, I am still “paying” my dues monthly. but I am also taking advantage of the discounts that are available on gift cards and earning interest on the money in the savings account.
