Buying and Selling DVC General DVC Grand Floridian Villas News and Updates

BREAKING: The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Sold Out

Reports are emerging this evening that The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has once again reached a “sold out” status for direct Disney Vacation Club sales!

This intriguing news initially sprung from discussions on DISboards, where it’s been mentioned that DVC guides have received notice of the resort’s sell-out status.

Our own DVC Fan contributor Ryan Chung was also able to confirm this via chat on the Disney Vacation Club website.

Let’s rewind a bit: The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa reopened its doors for direct sales on March 3rd, 2022, with the exciting addition of the new villas at Big Pine Key. The response from DVC members and fans alike was nothing short of phenomenal. Now, less than two years following this launch, we’re hearing that it’s already hit the “Sold Out” mark.

What Does “Sold Out” Mean for Buyers?

While it’s still possible to purchase direct points, the expectation is that these will be offered at a significantly elevated “sold out” price. However, hope isn’t lost for aspiring owners; points for the Grand Floridian are still attainable on the resale market. We actually recently alluded to this potential sellout over on DVC Resale Market’s blog.

Before this development, direct purchase at Grand Floridian was priced at around $255 per point, with the resale market averaging at $194 per point. The current situation implies a possible and rapid return to these pricing levels, now that direct sales have reached their cap.

When Will Polynesian or Fort Wilderness Go On Sale?

This sell-out appears to have occurred quicker than DVC may have anticipated. Now that Grand Floridian is considered “sold out” all eyes are on the future Disney Vacation Club properties on the horizon. With other projects like The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and the new Polynesian Villas Tower not expected to open for sales until mid-2024, this news could signal a significant shift for the next few months of direct sales.

This development is still fresh, and we’re keenly monitoring the situation for any updates and further confirmations.

We will likely learn more tomorrow when the newest round of Disney Vacation Club direct sales incentives go live and will bring you all the news and latest information.
