Victoria & Albert’s Is Awarded a Michelin Star

At the 2024 Michelin Guide Ceremony in Tampa, it was announced that Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has been awarded a Michelin Star.  Maître d’Hôtel Israel Pérez was also awarded the 2024 Florida Service Award.

According to the Michelin Guide, a Michelin Star is awarded to restaurants based on “the quality of the ingredients, the harmony of flavours, the mastery of techniques, the personality of the chef as expressed through their cuisine and, just as importantly, consistency both across the entire menu and over time.”

Victoria & Albert’s is considered the premiere restaurant at Walt Disney World.  It is led by Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers and offers guests a true culinary adventure with its seasonal tasting menu of modern American cuisine with influences from around the world.  Its extensive wine list includes more than 500 wines from 35 regions.

Guests can enjoy the fine dining experience in one of three settings: The Dining Room with its Victorian elegance, Queen Victoria’s Room where guests can indulge in an expanded tasting menu, and The Chef’s Table where guests can interact with the world-class culinary team.

The restaurant has previously won several prestigious awards and honors, including the AAA Five Diamond Award since 2000, Forbes Travel Guide Five Star since 2018, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and Florida Trend Golden Spoon Hall of Fame – American Regional.

  • We have been there 3 times, also with our young daughter several years ago. We looked forward to visiting again sometime. Always a top notch experience ❤️

  • They deserved it years ago, but on or 22 reservation last fall we will never be going back, the food was average when you compare it to the food they served before the extended shut down. Our service was also lacking. We used to be greeted by Israel like he was happy we were back, i think they cared and saw you were returning guest, I understand some of it is show, but this last trip there it was like here is your table do you like our new look and that was it.

So I am not sure how Michelin really makes their decision but they missed by not awarding this award when they really deserved it.
