Aulani Owners Receive Banked Points Extension

Aulani

Disney Vacation Club owners at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, received some good news today regarding their vacation points!

In an email sent to members, DVC has modified their expiration policy due to the resort’s prolonged closure and extended previously banked points through February 28th, 2021. The email states:

“To provide greater flexibility for Members with an ownership interest at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii, we’ve modified our temporary policies regarding expiring Vacation Points for those with a reservation impacted by the Resort’s closure. If you have previously banked Points that are still eligible for use, they will automatically be extended through Feb 28, 2021, and will be available online for use through the Member Online Booking tool once your Use Year has ended. This includes previously banked April, June, August, September, October, or December 2018 or February 2019 Aulani Use Year points. All other types of Points will follow their normal expiration process.”

As we previously reported, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, has announced that they will begin a phased reopening of their resort on Sunday – November 1st, 2020.

This points extension adds greater flexibility to Aulani owners impacted by the closure and also sets a precedent that we may see extended to owners of The Villas at Disney’s and Californian Hotel & Spa as well.

Are you an owner of Aulani? Let us know in the comments if you think this is a fair compensation for the resorts extended closure!

I feel DVC owes all members something, not only the owners at Aulani. Think about it. For months all DVC Resorts were in fact closed, with no access by members. Yet Disney kept collecting our monthly fees without any trouble. Does anybody really think Disney is going to do anything for us ? How about this idea. For each 100 points of ownership in DVC, owners can receive some sort of gift from DVC. A key chain, t-shirt, beach bag, or some other item. Or perhaps for each 100, a $10 voucher to be used at the DVC resort for a purchase of our choice. And let’s be real, with the prices at Disney, they will still be making money. A small gesture goes an awfully long way in the good will department.
