With the recently updated tourism guidelines set to go into effect in Hawaii, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, has announced that they will begin a phased reopening of their resort on Sunday – November 1st, 2020.
As we previously reported, those choosing to travel to Hawaii will need to comply with pre-travel testing or quarantine mandates. Essentially, this means that a negative COVID-19 test must be provided that was conducted no earlier than 72 hours before arrival on the island. Don’t get your test results back in time? You can still choose to travel but will need to quarantine until the test results are provided. The state has provided the colorful chart seen below to help explain the pre-travel testing process. More information on this process can be found on the state’s website.

Disney has stated that upon Aulani‘s reopening, rooms, restaurants, and other activities may be limited in capacity due to ongoing physical distancing efforts. Specific information regarding these limitations has not been released at this time. Guests are also being asked to utilize the resorts online check-in process. As we have seen with the reopening of other Disney Vacation Club Resorts, additional enhanced cleaning measures will be implemented to promote better the health and safety of members, guests, and Cast Members.
Guests planning to travel to Aulani at this time are encouraged to check the resort’s website frequently for updates.
While we are excited to see Aulani reopening, we wonder whether these pre-travel mandates will discourage many from making the trip. Be sure to complete our poll below and let us know if you’d be willing to travel to Hawaii during the resort’s initial reopening!
