Top Reasons to Stay at the Beach Club Without Stormalong Bay

One of the main reasons that people love staying at the Beach Club is its feature pool, Stormalong Bay.  The 3-acre pool is really more like a mini water park with its lazy river, whirlpool spas, sandy beach, and 230-foot long shipwreck-themed slide, the Flying Jib.

However, Stormalong Bay will be under refurbishment from January 2025 until June 2025.  If you’re lucky enough to find availability at the Beach Club, there’s still lots to enjoy about the Beach Club without access to Stormalong Bay.

Location

The Beach Club is one of the best places to be on your EPCOT days, especially during festivals.  While the BoardWalk is also walking distance to EPCOT and Riviera is just a Skyliner ride away, the Beach Club is hands down the closest to EPCOT among all the DVC resorts.  Whether you want to get to festival food booths early, or you want to enjoy Luminous or Extended Evening Theme Park Hours at EPCOT, it’s always nice to travel between your villa and the theme park in just a few minutes.

Newly Refreshed Rooms

The Beach Club Villas recently underwent a soft goods refurbishment.  In addition to new artwork and updated upholstery, the rooms now feature Murphy beds in place of the old sofa beds.  The much more comfortable Murphy beds are a big perk and certainly a factor in deciding which resort to stay at for future trips.

Low Points Charts

As one of the older DVC resorts, the Beach Club also has one of the lower points charts.  Deluxe Studios start at 14 points while Two Bedroom Villas start at 36 points per night.  With fewer points needed for stays at the Beach Club compared to those at other resorts, you can really stretch your points for a longer stay or even save points for another trip.

Keep in mind that during Stormalong Bay’s refurbishment, guests can still swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools. Other than Stormalong Bay, what do you enjoy about the Beach Club Villas?

And don’t forget the close proximity of the Skyliner! Another benefit of the best resort on Disney property – jmho.

Love the Beach Club! Although it is nice to know the pool is there I think I have only used it once.
I like being close to Beaches and Cream for an afternoon or evening ice cream and like the quick service as kids like to stop there and get candy or snack. Also like the sun room for reading or to eat. Also like a trip to the buffet and most importantly the location for Epcot and quick Skyliner ride to Hollywood Studios.
Stay there whenever I can get in at 7 months and have pretty much been lucky.

Sorry but the DVC rooms at the beach club do not have a very good selection. Only one view (trees).
Without the pool there is really no reason to stay at Beach Club. I would much rather spend a couple more points and stay at the Boardwalk.
