Today we’ve got our first look inside the new rooms at Disney’s Beach Club Villas! These rooms are currently going through a planned soft-goods refurbishment or “refresh” this year, with work continuing through April 2023.

DVC Member Maree Young shared the following photos with us after checking into the Beach Club on Sunday:

Beach Club Refurbishment Overview

From the photos, it appears that the Beach Club room refurbishment is bringing many recent trends to these newly remodeled villas. This includes the highly popular queen-size Murphy pull-down bed that was first seen at Disney’s Riviera Resort. The addition of the Murphy bed also brings added USB and USB-C charging options. Other notable touches are the low-profile bed frame with under-bed storage, as well as new carpeting, curtains, and upholstery. The overall style is reminiscent of most of the recent Disney Vacation Club room refurbishments. One big surprise is the new addition of a Keurig Duo coffee maker. I personally have one of these at home and love it!

You might notice that much of the other fixtures and furniture remain unchanged. Beach Club is currently only scheduled for a soft-goods “refresh,” which updates many highly worn aspects of the room but maintains much of the primary furniture and fixtures throughout the villas. This, unfortunately may mean that we will not see the addition of a fifth sleeper brought to Beach Club’s one-bedrooms during this refurbishment cycle.

Last but not least, most refurbishments are marked by new artwork, and Beach Club is no exception. Above the couch now hangs a picture of Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie enjoying some pool time in what I have to assume is Stormalong Bay. Pulling down the Murphy Bed reveals them tired after a long day and asleep on the beach overlooking Disney’s Boardwalk.

  • Looks like a good “soft” refurbished but am extremely disappointed that they are not adding the fifth person to a one bedroom. You can sleep 5 in a studio and only 4 in a one bedroom that you need to pay more points for is crazy. They really should have taken care of this issue! Especially since I love the Beach Club but won’t be staying there until they add the fifth person. A studio is cheaper and fits 5.

  • Two pieces of artwork is all the theming it gets? I feel like I just checked into a Drury Inn.

  • My question is this: where is the storage space for your clothes? It seems that they would have added something. You lost drawers to put your clothes in.

    • I don’t see how you lose space for clothes. Same drawers but you get an upgraded murphy bed so you can acutally have a guest sleep in the same room with you and not feel guilty about a pull out sofa bed. The main bed gets underbed storage now so really if you leave clothes in the suitcase you actually get more storage options than before. Is it the best update probably not but they met the need with the murphy bed because without those the rooms are not usable, I wont even stay at AK till they get murphy beds. I feel they could have added a glass shower door and shower wand and it would have been a great update. You also have to remember this is a soft-goods refurb not full refurb.

  • Still boring and bland. No Disney magic other that Donald picture. It’s Beach Club!! So where are the much needed beachy pillows and runner on the bed!!

  • Is it me or is this terrible?

  • Can the table still be turned into a bed? It looks to me that the table and chest look same.

  • Looks better than it did for sure. Let’s be honest nobody stays here for the rooms. It’s location, pool and a few nice dining options. Not sure what people want but “value resort” theming wouldn’t and shouldn’t fly here.

    • Thank you! This is my DVC home so I’m bias. If you want all that over the top theming, stay at the Value’s. Some people don’t want the ghastly decor and over-the-top in your face Disney. I like this. It’s subtle.
Furthermore, I didn’t buy into DVC for the room decor. I bought here because of the proximity to two theme parks, dining options and vibes.

  • Are the 1BR and 2BR also getting the murphy beds?
