Gingerbread Houses Set to Deck the Halls of Multiple DVC Resorts This Holiday Season!

There’s something irresistibly magical about the holiday season at Disney Resort Hotels, and the mesmerizing gingerbread displays play no small part in this festive enchantment. If you’ve ever been captivated by these larger-than-life gingerbread marvels, you’re not alone. We’ve all wondered about the process and the meticulous planning that goes behind these edible architectural wonders and today, Disney Parks Blog has shared a look at what is in store this holiday season at Walt Disney World!

To shed some light: It’s a staggering seven months of preparation! The process kicks off with the culinary team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa beginning their gingerbread preparation as early as May. After blending, the dough undergoes a two-month-long curing process. The subsequent months are spent baking individual components, from shingles to Mickey-themed cookies, which are then carefully adorned and stored away for the grand assembly in November.

The exciting news for this year? Guests can marvel at these gingerbread masterpieces across six Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Making its debut is a brand-new display at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Here’s where you can catch these festive displays this season:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Get ready to be wowed, take pictures, and maybe even get a little inspiration for your gingerbread house this year. We’re certainly looking forward to any new twists and surprises Disney has in store for us as we explore all the holiday decorations across the Walt Disney World DVC properties!
