Sales for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Now Open for DVC Member Add-On Purchases!

Polynesian Island Tower Pool View

Sales for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows officially open today, October 1st, 2024, for existing Member add-on purchases! Along with the start of sales, we’ve got the scoop on the pricing and incentives being offered for this highly anticipated DVC property.

Opening Pricing and Incentives for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

The initial pricing for add-ons at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is set at $225 per point with a minimum 25-point purchase required for Member add-ons. However, incentives begin at 150 points, allowing Members to take advantage of these introductory discounts for new sales. Incentives reach as low as $208 per point for those looking to add on 1,000 or more Vacation Points!

Current Member Savings for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

As always, Disney Vacation Club’s initial Member add-on incentives provide some of the best values we see for new resort sales. The savings for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are available from now until December 11th, 2024. Here’s a breakdown of the savings you can expect based on your Vacation Point purchase:

When You Purchase…You’ll Save…
0 to 149 Vacation Points$0 ($0 Per Point)
150 to 199 Vacation Points$1,500 to $1,990 ($10 Per Point)
200 to 249 Vacation Points$2,600 to $3,237 ($13 Per Point)
250 to 299 Vacation Points$3,500 to $4,186 ($14 Per Point)
300 to 499 Vacation Points$4,500 to $7,485 ($15 Per Point)
500 to 999 Vacation Points$8,000 to $15,984 ($16 Per Point)
1,000+ Vacation Points$17,000+ ($17 Per Point)

These incentives are structured similarly to other recent DVC resort launches, including The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, but come with Polynesian-specific pricing tiers.

Analysis

As expected, the initial Member add-on incentives for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are slightly less generous compared to the ones offered when sales resumed for Big Pine Key at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort two years ago. For instance, a 200-point add-on purchase at the Grand Floridian offered a $21 per point savings then, whereas today’s Polynesian incentives provide only a $13 per point savings for the same 200-point purchase.

However, there’s an important detail to keep in mind: the price per point was $207 for the Grand Floridian during those incentives, compared to the Polynesian’s starting price of $225 per point. While the percentage savings per point may be lower, the higher base price at Polynesian puts these deals in a different context, making the financial picture less straightforward.

Where things may get particularly interesting is in the resale market. With the announcement of these new sales, it’s reasonable to expect a slight decline in resale prices for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows over the coming weeks. In August 2024, the average resale price for the Polynesian sat around $176 per point, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see that number drop a bit further with these new direct incentives on the table.

Overall, while these Polynesian incentives may not be as strong as those we’ve seen for other resorts, there are still some solid opportunities here if you are looking for a direct purchase.

Why Act Now?

Early Member add-on incentives like these historically offer the best pricing and value for a new DVC resort. After December 11th, the incentives may change, so if you’ve been dreaming of adding points at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, now is the time to lock in your savings!

Paul – my guide said DVC is not offering Magical Beginnings for the Poly at this time.

How have new member incentives typically compared to the existing member incentives?

Paul – my guide told me the same as Harris: no Magical Beginnings for the Poly Island Tower at this time. They also are only offering points for upcoming use year (i.e.; Nov & Dec UY will only load UY 24, not UY23)
