Polynesian Villas DVC Tower: January 2024 Construction Update

Polynesian DVC Construction

Being on property this past weekend for the runDisney Walt Disney World Half Marathon, we decided to check out the latest construction updates on the new Polynesian Villas DVC Tower. There’s been a whirlwind of development since our last check-in, and we can’t wait to share the progress with you.

Enclosed Rooms & Sliding Glass Balcony Doors

One of the most significant advancements is that all rooms now appear to be enclosed with their sliding glass balcony doors installed. The interior might seem pretty bare at the moment, but once the building is fully closed and climate-controlled, we anticipate seeing more interior work taking shape.

First Coats of Paint

Over the past week, the first coats of paint have gone up on one side of the building. Although the paint seems somewhat rough at this time—likely primer—it’s exciting to see the white and light brown colors starting to brighten up the concrete tower.

Decorative Metal Work & Grand Villas

Closer to the top, where we suspect there may be some grand villas similar to those at Disneyland Hotel, some decorative metal work has recently been added. This addition certainly gives some much-needed character to the building, which many feel looks out of place in the Polynesian landscape.

New Pool Design Emerges

In other noteworthy developments, the design of the new pool that will be part of the tower is finally beginning to take shape. This is one update we’re particularly thrilled about!

Progress on Adjacent Bar or Restaurant

We’ve also noticed further progress on what we believe to be a bar or restaurant area adjacent to the pool. We’re eager to see how this space evolves and what it will offer to guests.

Association with Existing Polynesian Villas Condominium Association

As we previously reported, the new Polynesian Tower was recently announced to be part of the existing Polynesian Villas condominium association. This integration is sure to offer a seamless experience for DVC members.

Anticipated Opening in Late 2024

The new Polynesian DVC Tower is currently anticipated to open in late 2024. While that may seem far away, we’re sure it will be worth the wait!

Stay tuned to DVC Fan for more updates on the Polynesian Villas DVC Tower construction. We’re as excited as you are to see this new addition to the DVC family come to life!

Great update! So looking forward to returning to the Poly since our family outgrew studio stays. Any guesses on the first reservation date?

This is all so very exciting!!!! We own most of our points direct at The Polynesian so having it part of the same association is Magical. I wonder if when they are ready to offer availability, if they will open it up to Polynesian owners for a week before others like they did at The Grand Floridian. As much as I want to visit now, I am saving my points to book there as soon as the announcement is made.
