BREAKING: NEW Polynesian DVC Tower to Join Existing Condo Association!

The latest news from the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Condo Association meeting is sure to delight DVC owners. The new tower coming to Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will be part of the resort’s existing condo association!

A Welcome Change for Owners

This is particularly exciting news for owners as the Polynesian resort has long been affected by the large point requiring bungalows, impacting the resort’s overall availability. With the new tower joining the existing association, it’s expected that this will significantly enhance the availability and options for DVC members. All current and future direct and resale owners will have the same 11-Month booking opportunities at both the new tower and the existing villas.

Our Speculations Confirmed

Back in May, we shared “Five Speculative Reasons the Polynesian Tower Could Join the Existing Association” and we’re thrilled to see our thoughts panned out. The attendees at this year’s condo association meeting also shared our excitement, greeting the news with cheers and applause.

What to Expect in the New Tower

The new tower will offer a variety of accommodations to cater to different needs. These include dedicated 2-bedroom villas, dedicated 1-bedroom villas, as well as 2-bedroom lock-off villas. The 2-bedroom lock-off villas can be separated into studios and 1-bedrooms, providing further flexibility for guests. In addition, deluxe studios and smaller “duo” studios will be available, unless a new name is chosen for these.

While the plans revealed thus far only show the ground floor, we are not yet able to determine if Grand Villas will be included. If they are, it’s likely these would be located on higher floors.

Resale Owners to Benefit Too

This exciting development also means that even resale owners of the Polynesian resort will be able to book at the new Polynesian DVC Tower. This is similar to what occurred with the Grand Floridian and Big Pine Key, which was a welcome surprise for many.

Because of this announcement, we can anticipate a significant increase in demand for Polynesian contracts within the resale market. If you’ve been considering a Polynesian contract and waiting for this news, we recommend heading to our friends at DVC Resale Market now.

A special thanks goes out to our dear friend and contributor Jeff Haslam for covering this year’s condo association meeting and bringing us this thrilling news!

  • Do we know the points for a 1-2 bedroom ?

    • No: Point charts likely won’t be revealed until late-2024.

  • Hey Jeff, Paul and Amy, I am assuming that we do not yet know about resale retractions? It is not impossible Dvc could change resale restrictions to something like Riveria. I know that sounds ridiculous but somehow I would not be surprised.

    • Hey Randu! – Shouldn’t be a possibility since they can’t change the original association. As with all current resales for Poly it would be bound to the original resorts and unable to be used for Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, and likely the Fort Wilderness Cabins… but they can’t make it so that you would only be able to use them at Poly. This is going to be identical to what they did with Grand Floridian.

  • Great news and thanks for bringing the news in real time! Any updated information on the anticipated opening date – still scheduled to open in late 2024 or now pushed to 2025? BTW – the May article nudged us over the top to buy a great deal Poly contract at your friends at DVC Resale Market. My wife and I are delighted with the news!
